The only greater mountain fells in Finland are located in Kilpisjärvi Region.
You can find as much as 40 taller then 1000 meters tall fells in this region, including the Norwegian and Swedish sides.
In this region you can still find genuine Lappish culture and reindeer herding.
Here you will enjoy the freshest air in the whole of Europe.
There are plenty of activities you can enjoy in this arcticly bare landscape.
Cross-country skiing, trekking, snowmobiling. Even gliding, flying and sleigh riding

Kilpisjärvi is also a good destination along the road to the northernmost continental location in Europe, Norwegian towns of Hammerfest, Nordkap, Tromsø and Skibotn. Skibotn and the Arctic Ocean is just 40 kms away from Kilpisjärvi.
LAKE SURROUNDED BY HIGH PEAKS
On the shore of Kilpisjärvi you will see the mighty Saana - 1029 meters tall - and
Malla (906 m). Behind the lake you can see Paras
(1419 m) in Norway and Pältsa (1444 m) in Sweden.
The highest peak in Finland is Halti (1328 m). Halti waits for you to conquer it's hillsides a bit further from Kilpisjärvi.
