KENNEL BOIDIS - THE PAST

It was year 1968 and the Kiverä family had decided to get a dachshund. The smooth-haired "sausage" dog, which succeeds in the Finnish winter without gathering a huge amount of snow like a Skye Terrier, which they had showed before. An add in the paper lead the Kiverä family to see puppies that were born at Mrs Oidi Schoultz's Boidis kennel. They brought home a smooth haired dog puppy called Majuri. After a while they started to feel that Majuri needed a dog companion. The companion came also from the Boidis kennel. These first dachshounds of the Kiverä family, Boidis Major and Boidis Odette, both became International and Nordic Champions and Majuri also gained the title of the Finnish Champion at den trials. So it was quite natural that when Mrs Schoultz gave up the kennel work because of her age, the affix Boidis was transfered to Mrs Seija Kiverä in 1974.

SMOOTH-HAIRED DACHSHUNDS SINCE 1974

SMOOTH-HAIRED MINIATYRE DACHSHUNDS SINCE 1978

Kennel Boidis was founded in 1967 by Mrs. Oidi Schoultz. She bred on old Finnish material with success. I had the pleasure to overtake the kennel in 1974. I had bought already three dogs from her, which all became champions and formed the basis to my breeding.

TODAY

In my breeding, I try to use the best available studs in Skandinavia with real working spirit combined with first class looks. All my puppies are raised in the house, where all my dogs live as members of the family. My breeding is based on small dogs from the old Boidis lines, imports from England and Sweden. In spite of all the difficulties caused of the small amount of dogs in this breed in Scandinavia, I have succeeded in producing many show and working champions.
