Duo Al Qamar is a duo that performs a combination of Eastern rhythms and dance.

Kimmo Koskipuro adapts drum arrangements with tabla drum.
Teacher of oriental dancing and choreographer, Heli Koskipuro, has choreographed the dance arrangements.

Duo Al Qamar started in June 2005 when both Kimmo and Heli discovered a mutual interest for creating performance material together.

The name Al Qamar is an Arabic word which means 'full moon'. So the first output is named Moon Lady, where a young lady is dancing to her cherished in a moon light.

Eastern style rhythms are based in the drum pieces, to which Kimmo influences with his own ideas.

Show pieces are currently drum dances 1. Moon Lady and 2. Mystic Reggae, which also has scarf and finger cymbals.
Also the repertory involves Heli's solo performs: Baila la boda ( own choreograph ), Min-dah ( choreograph Magdy El-Leisy ), scarf and stick dance.
