Dear Mr. Juha/Sytkyt,
Maria and Katja/Embassy of Finland/Kuala Lumpur,
First of all, we would like to express our thanks
and gratitude to all
of you in making this program a success. The program has great impact
on
us, as we think it has significantly brought the children and parents
together back to the library again, though lately, the outbreak of H1N1
as well as HFMD hinder them to actively participate in our children
activities etc . The beauty of this program is endless, parents tend to
realize the importance of puppet theater in making children educational
activities more fun and enjoyable.
We are very thankful to our reporters too for publishing this program
in
their newspapers. Hence, we attach 2 newspaper articles published in
the
"Borneo
Post" and "Eastern Times"
for your further reference.
Best Regards, Salina Zawawi, Regional Manager, Pustaka Miri
Kiitokset Malesiasta, Malakan esityksestä:
The story line became more interesting as he talked about the dirty
tooth and having to brush your teeth. However, the children were
captivated by the puppets and their movements together with the lights
and the soft music in the background. We had many children from Wings
Melaka attendeding this party and the teachers and I were there to
assist the parents in getting our special kids to adjust to the new
environment. Before leaving, each of the kids were also given packed
food, drink and a party pack which included a children's note book and
a toothbrush.
The workshop on Monday night was attended by 15
kids. Since majority of the children had attended the party the day
before, Mr. Juha did another performance and changed the story line. As
it was a small group, he could interact much closer with the kids and
taught them basic puppet skills using their hands. After completing
their puppets with the teachers' assistance, the children also took
turns to come out in pairs to present their puppets and give a short
play about it. This was also fun for the kids as they not only got to
learn how to make simple puppets but they could display their puppets,
give a name to it & play out a short story.
Kiitokset Vietnamista, Hanoin esityksestä:
Dear Juha, we would like to thank you for coming to our schools and
perform the lovely puppet show SAMPO LAPPALAINEN yesterday. We feel that
it was privilege to have such a wonderful experience for our children
and all of us at both campuses . There were over 100children with 26
difference nationalities and we all enjoyed your stories very much.
It was very exciting show and children, especially
older group were talking about it even after you are gone.
Next month, we have our International Week to
celebrate the different culture and nationality and this experience
with you became very good introduction to the children.
