ABOUT THE PROJECT

In the end of July 2005, Finish artists Teemu Takatalo and Tommi Taipale build a raft out of recycled materials as a part of an international art project, Overtures Am Wasser, in München, Germany. The raft was exhibited to the public during the 26.7. - 4.9. in the garden of Alpines Museum.

Now, after presenting the raft as an object containing the potential of an adventure, we want to go further and actually let it flow free. In the end of September the raft will be launched onto the Donau current in the city of Deggendorf.

One main intention of the project is to offer the raft as a floating residence for artists and other curious kind of minds. The residents are welcome to use the raft for their own creative work and inspiration.

On the way towards the Black Sea we want to open a possibility for participants and the public alike, to have an experience that makes them look at life in a new way - whether actively involved or just witnessing.

We believe that ecological thinking, positive unpredictable actions and enriching experiences are important parts for a more tolerant and open-minded future to develop.
