Home in Lapland

Helena Junttila lives in Aska which is a little village in the Finnish Lapland. Aska is located in Sodankylä commun and it is about 100 kilometres north from Rovaniemi. In Aska there are about fifty houses. Every summer since 1998 there has been summer exhibition ASKARE about handicraft and art in the old school building.
The history of the village begins from the 17th century. The River Kitinen has played an important role trough the history.
