Åland Sea Days is a big maritime event with Race for traditional sailing vessels and farm boats from Föglö Degerby to the eastern harbour of Mariehamn, July 18. New! In conjunction with the Sea Days: Pommern-day in the Western Harbour of Mariehamn on the 15th July where we celebrate the unique 4-masted museumship with line-crossing ceremonies and sailhoisting to the tunes of old shanty songs. Traditional Ships' Meeting in Degerby July 17. Adventure tour for small traditional work boats July 14 - 18. Canal Festival beside Lemström canal on Sunday, July 22. In addition, sailing trips, sailing race for old-time work boats, motor-boat race and parade of wooden boats. Programmes for children (bark-boat contest, pets and farm animals on view, etc). Displays and sales of handicrafts. Food and drink for sale. Entertainment with dancing every night. During these five days the Maritime Quarter will be a meeting place for crews, tourists and Ålanders. |
