My current practice routine:
Currently I don't have a set routine.

I teach 4-5 days, 30+ hours, a week:

  • guitar and electric bass
  • improvisation
  • ensemble playing
  • music theory
  • arranging and composition
In addition to that I try to put in at least a few hours daily of other music-related work, such as:
  • reading about music
  • working on teaching materials
  • arranging
  • composition/ songwriting
  • transcription
  • working on my lessons

Subjects

Subjects I've worked on lately are:

  • arpeggios - triads and seventh chords
  • chord tones & neighbor tones - targeting/ enclosure
  • chordmelody playing/ chord soloing
  • legato playing
  • II-V-I's
  • playing octaves
  • using a capo - this is an art form in itself and requires a lot of work...
  • Zen Guitar
