My Home Studio

[My Home Studio]

My home studio is a very modest one. It is used solely for my own personal work and consists of:

  • a laptop
  • a M-Audio USB audio interface
  • Pro Tools software
  • Sibelius software
  • a M-Audio USB MIDI keyboard
  • a pair of M-Audio BX5 studio monitors
  • a Zoom H4n handy recorder
  • a drum machine
  • some microphones
  • some DI boxes ( active and passive)
  • some synthesizers
  • an effect processor
  • a digital multitracker

Composition/ songwriting, arranging and producing are what I find the most rewarding aspects of music. I love to write music and lyrics, sometimes I'm so full of ideas that I don't know what to do with them all.

I make my MIDI mockups with Pro Tools and write my scores with Sibelius. I think that they are great tools for everything from composing and arranging to recording and producing your own music. I write anything and everything, for example:

  • jazz tunes
  • pop songs
  • theatre/ film/ TV music
  • game music
  • jingles
  • music for art exhibitions
  • arrangements/ orchestrations for all kinds of ensembles
I like to let out whatever is in my head and not worry much about what it is - I like to leave that for others to figure out... :-)
