With great sadness I let everybody know that our Ch Finnsky Xcalibur aka Walter died last week at the age of 13 years 4 months. His health condition declined slowly and last week he was not able to walk anymore so we had to make one of the most difficult desicions of our lives.
Walter was number 4 Terrier while he was shown in the USA, multiple Skye Terrier of the Year both in USA and in Finland, he was BOB at the Montgomery County STCA National Specialty twice and was also the National Specialty winner in Finland, World Winner, European Winner and one of the most winning Skyes ever world wide in the history of the breed. He was a son of two great Skyes: Ch Finnsky Oliver and Finnsky Tazzee. He was owned by Thea, Kirsi Sainio and Eugene Zaphiris and while campaining in USA by Cecilia Ruggles. His handler in USA was Scott Sommer and in Europe Carina Kitti. He also proved to be a wonderful producer like his dad, his children will take his legacy on in the future.
But most of all he was a wonderful dog and friend, always happy, always loving and one of the smartest dogs I have ever met. I owe my special thanks to Carina and Thea for taking care and loving Walter through all these years. Last but not least, Walter was Rolf's best buddy and we felt that Walter never really understood what happened when Rolf died just a month ago. Our only comfort is that they will now take care of each other, where ever they may be.
