Welcome to visit Lapin Saaga homepage. Let me start by
introducing myself.
My name
is Hannele Keskitalo and I have lived up here in the north, in the
small village of Sirkka, all my life. Many people know the village
better by
name Levi, but actually the village itself is called
Sirkka and Levi is just one
of the many fells in the area.
Also both of my
parents have lived here all their lives and I love to live
here, too. When I was
a young girl I met my husband here and now we have
two lovely children, daughter
Susanna and son Tapio. We also have three
dogs and six Icelandic horses which we
bring up here, together.
We run a family business here in Lapland. We organize Lappish activities
both for foreign and Finnish people.
My
family has a kota village near Ounas river. There is no road to the village
but in the summertime we go there by boat and in the
wintertime we naturally
use
reindeer, snowmobiles and our
Icelandic horses. In kota village you
can experience the real silence,
and if you are lucky, enjoy the beautiful and
bright Northern Lights.
For me personally, Lappish
culture and traditions play a very important role.
Even
during the high season, in the middle of all the rush, I want
to share
these magic moments with all the visitors around the
world.
I'm very proud of my home town and I hope that people understand
one thing;
it is not only slopes and
restaurants we have here. Most of all,
what we have here is beautiful Lappish nature, local inhabitants and culture
that we
are all very proud of.
Welcome
to know me and my beautiful Lapland !
