Gathering Dreams evolved from a solo project of Tero Kangasmaa, founded back in 2004. After a few years of experimenting, he decided to settle with composing and playing music with progressive influences.
In the spring of 2008 a rumor of this "dream" came out and Ilkka Oksanen contacted Tero and asked if he was in a need of a drummer. After a few rehearsals, they developed somekind of musical understanding and decided to continue playing together.
The songs required another guitarist, so Ilkka introduced Simo Sällinen to Tero. After a few rehearsals Simo was nailed to the band.

Currently in studio, the upcoming EP (?) "The A-word" is planned to come out in fall 2009.
