Canoe Safaris

Paddling with a canoe is an easy way to travel and experience the great beauty of the lakes and rivers of Finland.

A canoe safari does not set very high demands on Your physical fitness, it will go easy as walking.

In a canoe You will find new views to the nature, the kind You never before have realised to exist.

About the Canoe Safaris

Anyone who is able to sit in a canoe is also able to depart in a Canoe Safari. There are no special demands in departing.

Nothing to worry
It will be an advantage if You can swim and do possess a reasonable sense of humor, but equipped with a floating vest You will manage to get ashore if You by any chance would end up diving into the water.

Take care
The purpose of the Canoe Safari is not to be a canoe race. The length and the speed will be set to a level that nobody needs to feel being a galley slave.

Group size
The number of persons on a safari may vary from
2 - 20, but can be raised over 30 if necessary.

You will need
Your clothing should be somewhat sporty and easy to wear, according to the season. A windcheater jacket, runningshoes, possibly gloves and rainware will be good.

The equipment provided
You may choose from indian-style canoes or inuit-style kayaks. Floating vests, compulsory for Your safety, will be chosen according to Your weight.

A Safari package - meals and extra program
A Safari may be taylored just according to Your wishes to include the meals of Your choise and all kinds of additional program that You want.
You will have a good time to remember later on.

Guided Canoe Safaris
The guide and leader on our safaris will be Your host, Matti Vääntäjä, who is also a trained survival- and canoe safari guide.

The length of a safari will be set according to the will and srength of the departees from a couple of hours upwards.
A guided safari includes transportation from the farm to the starting point and return if nothing else has been agreed.

The favourite is a safari of 4 - 6 hours, including a couple of small rapids. Extra program as sauna and swimming, dinner, a night at a campfire or something else can be included on the customer's wish.
