FUN FOR THE
FILM FREAK

No, it's really me, Jussi Saarikivi , the man responsible for the English teaching at Pälkäne Senior Secondary School. I live in a detached house in a residential area not too far away from the centre of Pälkäne.

I've been teaching English ( and at times also Swedish) for over twenty years. There are two things that I like about this job. First of all, I'm able to speak, write and study the English language, which has fascinated me ever since I heard the Beatles 'twist and shout'. Secondly, it gives me great pleasure to notice how Finnish youngsters - even the most sullen backwoods boy - grow into English speakers who are ready, willing, and able to use that language as a means of international communication.

When I'm not preoccupied with English, I go in for jogging, badminton and rock music. Lately I've been listening to some old blues classics and 70s disco - big men like Albert King and Barry White.

At this point you may be wondering what the man looks like.

My eyes are nothing compared to the ones flicking above. In fact, they are protected by strong glasses. As for the rest of my body, I'm medium height, lean and I've got short, grey hair.
