Oktober 8th 2007 Dear Diary! You didn't think you were gonna hear anything from me again soon did you? Well here I am, going strong as always. Mom is home with us girls a lot these days, I guess she has some kind of vacation from work. Anyway, we enjoy it, and we get to do a lot of work. We - that's of course me and Hjördis, who is growing up to be a beautiful little cover girl, she won the specialty show last summer you kow, I let her.
Anyways, it has been a very special summer, I got to see my Amercan mom Brenda again, can you beleive that! We went to the Giant Schnauzer summercamp as usual, and man was I surprised when all of a sudden I met my dear, dear Brenda-Mom again after five years! She had come all the way from USA just to meet me, and she was here for the whole camp and took care of me. That's what I call dedication! I just wish I'll get to meet Tim again one day also, and meeting Brenda made me think that it might be possible for Tim to come and see me also.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that we are doing just fine, and I know I ought to write more often. I cannot make any promises, but I'll do my best. Love, your's The Wanda
July 14th 2005 Dear Diary! I cannot belive how fast time goes by! It seemes like yesterday when I last wrote to you, but THREE months have gone by. And now I don't have time for more than a quick enter, me, Hjördis and mom are leaving for the SSSK summer camp tomorrow so there is a lot to do. Last week we were at a camp in the south of Finland near a town called Hamina. There was five working Pepper and Salt Giants, the man who was training the people to play with us dogs brought a whole bunch of them with him from Germany, and three of them got to play bite-the-sleeve with the people. It was awesome, and mom was very happy 'cause they were all relatives to Hjördis and mom was very interested in seeing them work. We had a great time, and I got to play with Mika, a friend from Vaasa who is training to be a player with me and Hjördis. Anyways, as I wrote before, I don't have time to write more right now, but when we get home from camp I promise you new stories and pictures from both camps. Until then, yours, The Wanda
March 15th 2005 Dear Diary! A lot has happened since I last wrote you, I got to keep the beautiful blue trousers again for one thing. I suppose the other dogs in the neighbourhood also think they are stylish, especially the boys, as they have been hanging around our house just to get a peak at me in my nice outfit.
Mom took me and Hjördis out for a skiing trip againg, it had been a year since the last time. Mom went off first with Hjördis, and as you can imagine I had serious difficulties waiting for my turn, as I was supposed to ski with a boy called Risto. He tried to hold me down, but I had decided to go, so off we went. It didn't take me more than a minute to get to where mom and Hjördis was, and the reunion was joyful! Mom had to sit down on her butt in the snow, she was so happy that she couldn't stand. The trip continued with the about the same scheme all the way, we would have been done a lot sooner if mom only hadn't been so happy that she had had to sit, lay and dive in the snow all the time. I wonder when she'll take us skiing again, she did walk a bit stiff for the next day or two.
And - as I'm happy to let you know, we have also been visiting Esa for the first time this year, it was very funny and he played with both me and Hjördis. We stayed the night, and this time I didn't have to do the nightshift as Hjördis was along to do the hard work, Queens get to sleep at night while their servants stay up and keep watch.
Well, that's all for now, keep busy, yours Queen Wanda
February 1st 2005 Dear Diary! You probably think that I have forgotten all about you, as I haven't written to you in such a loooong, long time. Beleive me though, when I tell you, that I have suffered from bad conscience almost every day now, I will not try to excuse my behaviour by making up all kinds of explanations, I will now simply let you in on what's going on.
First of all, Taiga did not come back. I miss her a lot, but at the same time I'm proud, since she left me in charge, so that means I'm head of the herd now, and the herd - well that's me and li'l Hjördis. It's Good To Be The Queen!
We have had a long brake with the training, Christmas came and went and so did New years eve with it's fireworks. The winter with its snow and ice has been making life difficult for us. Fortunately Nessu's mom Miia called mom one day and asked if we wanted to go to the Agilityhall with them and do some serious working. I told mom to jump at the opportunity, so now we have been going there for a few weeks, and things are starting to look brighter on that front. Way to go Nessu, I have just posted some pics from our training on my workingpicture 2005 page, on the friends and family page, and on Hjördis's own page.
I miss Esa a lot, I haven't seen him since New Years eve, and I hope that we soon will get to do some playing together, you know, mom is ok, but... Well, I guess that now when spring comes along, we will be getting around more and more in the van again, me and mom. Oh yes and Hjördis... I wonder if we have to take her along too... I must have a serious conversation whith mom about her. If she tagles along, it must be remembered that ME, Moi, is number one, numero uno!
That's about all I had for now, keep your fingers crossed for some action, and I will let you know how things develop. Yours, The one and only Wanda
November 14th 2004 Dear Diary! A lot has happened since my last entry, but I will concentrate on the most important thing.
Last Friday we had pizza, (it was wandaful!) and a while after eating that we all felt a bit dizzy, but Taiga kinda fell asleep totally. Mom had tears all over her cheeks and me and Hjördis tried to lick them away, and then Dad went away in the van with Taiga. Mom kept on crying and layed down on the sofa, so me and Hjördis quick as lighting went to lay real tight to her.
After a while Dad came back, but Taiga wasn't with him... I'ts been a few days now and I think Taiga is not coming back anymore. I guess that makes me the oldest of the sisters, so I really will have to start taking responsibility! I want to thank you Taiga, for taking me on into the family with such an open heart, and teaching me all the tricks of the trade.
Until we meet again,
Yours, The Wanda
October 21th 2004 Dear Diary! So - it's been over a month again! But I have really been busy with my new sis Hjördis, you know. At first I didn't really like her that much, she was taking up too much of my space it seemed. I must admit that I was jealous and therefore a bit mean to her, I didn't let her move around as she pleased, she always had to ask my permission.
Anyways, she arrived on a Monday, and on Saturday at 6 pm that same week I decided that she had suffered enough and surely knew her place in the family, and so I went over to her and asked: "Do ya wanna play?" You can bet she wanted! She still is a bit small and bony, and sometimes she wants me to take it easy, but I respect that, and now we are the best of friends. She is now allowed to hang in my beard and chew on my paws if she wants to, as long as she remembers that I still am the one who's in charge.
I took mom to the tracking trial I was talking about in my last diary entry, but suddenly when we were there I got this strange feeling that I had puppies waiting for me in the crate. Milk started to come from my nipples and I just couldn't concentrate on working with mom. She held her head up, and did her best anyway, but you know it ain't possible to succeed without my full attention so... Well, I promised I would take her to a trial again next spring, so that's water under the bridge now.
I haven't been playing with Esa for a long time, but I just heard mom talking to him on the phone, and she said something about seing him next Friday, so I really hope that we will be able to play together again. I will write and tell you about that later.
Until we meet again, yours truly, The Wanda
September 4th 2004 Dear Diary! I cannot beleive it has been this long since I last wrote you! But now I have some HUGE news, I have finally talked mom and dad into getting me a little sister to teas, and she's coming the day after tomorrow! It's gonna be so much fun to play with her, even though I have to admit that I am a bit worried about how mom will get time enough for bouth of us. But, you know yours truly, I come in first hand and she'll have to do with what time is left over. We (me and mom) made a page for her of her own on the internet, you can look at it by clicking here.
I will write again soon after her arrival, and tell you all about her, until then I'm busy training mom for the upcoming tracking trial that is is only three weeks. Talk to you real soon, yours, The Wanda.
June 16th 2004Dear Diary! Boy, oh boy did I have a busy weekend! On Friday me and mom packed the van and left for Hyvinkää to go play with Esa, which of course was very nice. I had a firm grip on the sleeve when mom suddenly told me to let go. Well, I did what she asked, clapped my theeth a couple of times, and got to bite again. I wonder if that's some kinda new trick mom's trying to teach me? Anyways, I thought that was it for the evening, but did I have a surprise coming! Mom had secretly arranged a date with my love one, Ringo The Giant!!! We had so much fun together running in the forest! After that me and mom went to a Hotel for the night, and I had the nightshift until 3 am, only to get a few hours rest before the morningshift started at 6 am. God knows what would have happened to that hotel if I hadn't stood guard!
The next day it rained, rained and rained. I cannot understand why mom had to put me in the shower and blow me dry only to get me all wet in the rain again? My mother in law, Ringo's mother Sari, came to our help whith umbrellas and a raincoat, I got to wear the coat and I was very proud of myself. It turned out that there was a dog show that we were entering, I guess that explanes the fuss with me in the raincoat. Well, I was happy when it was all over and I got back in the van with mom again, as I secretly expected that I would get to see Ringo my love again, and you know what: I sure did! We went for a long run in a field somewhere, and then we went back to Ringo's place and ordered some pizza. That's what I call a successful day!
Luckily I had the following night off, so me and mom got a good nights sleep at the hotel. In the morning the shower-blowdry-routine followed again, and the day turned out to be sunny this time. Mom ran with me in the ring at the show, while Sari wanted me to come to her outside the ring, I just couldn't make it as mom was holding me back, but I stood still and watched Sari hoping she'd be there when mom finally allowed me to run to her. When the show was over we went to see Esa again, and although I was very tired I played with him for a while, as he so obviously wanted to. We slept in aunt Helena's funny house by the lake, and after staring at the lake for a while I allowed myself to get some sleep.
In the morning I was full of energy, so it was a relief to find out that we was gonna play again, me and Esa. I was really into it, and got the sleeve away from him easily. After that we went driving home, and I was so happy to see dad and Taiga again, after such a long time on the road.
Until we meet again, yours truly, The Wanda
May 23rd 2004 Dear Diary! A couple of months has gone by since my last entry, and a lot of fun stuff has happened. I have been able to play around with my new buddy Esa a great deal, and I am really in to chasing him these days! He runs around with the huge sleeve on his arm, and the moment I get the chance I bite into it and hold on. Mom says I'm real good at it and she's so proud of me.
I have also taken the BH-exam, I passed it easily and you can see a video from it on the updates-page. After that mom took me to a couple of obedience tests, but guess what, I have noticed that during the test I can do whatever I want with no consequences, so I'm enjoying that for the moment, the medals can wait!
We went to a show again in May, and I got my third CAC, and two big ribbons and throphys, or mom got them, I got a big, juicy bone to chew on.
Other than that my days are filled with the usual chores, chewing on my big sis Taiga, rolling around in nice smelling poop and stuff, running mom crazy by asking her what to do all the time, making the bed every morning - well, you know, the things all dogs do for a living. Mom and I have started to go on running trips with the bike a lot, I love to run, but if she thinks she can tire me down she's got another one coming...
I am eagerly waiting for the summer and everything fun we will do together mom and I, I know I will get to meet my boyfriends Ringo The Giant and Nero The Beaucerone a lot, so I know I have a great summer ahead of me. I will try to write and tell you about my escapades, but when I'm too busy I will just ask mom to add some pictures or so.
Hope to meet you all soon again, with love, yours The Wanda.
March 24th 2004 Dear Diary! Today is my birthday, I am now two years old! When we woke up this morning and still was lieing in bed, mom asked me to put up as many front legs as I am old, and I solved that one at once, does she think I'm stupid?
Then we, me and mom, went to the trainingfield and played around, and then we went for a long stroll in the forest. I had lots of fun and mom took pictures, I will put them up here asap. Then we went for a walk in the city, that was a little exciting, and a man came and talked with us. I became very upset, and started  to bark at him, because he asked mom if i was a Vorsteher! Can you imagine?! A Vorsteher! Did you ever hear anything that silly...
I also wrote a Happy Birthday-letter to my sis and bro in LA, and guess what they got for they birthday! A new little 11 weeks old brother to tease! I immediately told mom that I would like one too, and it sounded a bit promising, she told me we'd have to wait and see...
Mom told me that Esa is coming here for the weekend, I am so excited about that, I love to play with him, so I guess that is as good a birthday present as I can hope for, even though a babysister would be great. Mom also told me that she has ordered a new sleeve and a beautiful Indian desing collar for me from Germany, they just haven't arrived yet, but they are kind of birthday presents too, as the sleeve is one for big girls and no puppy stuff.
Well, I promise to let you know how I am doing a bit more often in the future, I admit to being lazy and not writing as often as I should but, until we meet again, love, yours, The Wanda
January 22nd 2004 Dear Diary! Remember I wrote about mom having trouble moving when it's slippery? Well, last week she really did it! We were out skiing, that means mom on skis and I in front of her pulling her so she won't have to do any work. I was very happy when I noticed that we went to the place were we use to ski, and started to howl when mom took me out of the car. Mom had spent the morning smearing something on the skis and I could hear her mumbling about a good glide...
Well, off we went, I was really enjoying myself, running like the wind up and down the road. We were just coming down a hill when all off a sudden I felt a heavy pull on the bungie rope, and when I turned my head around to look what was happening, I saw mom coming through the air like a heavy bird, and crashing into the ground. I of course immediately run to her and started kissing her in the face, pulling her gloves and - you know - stuff we do when humans lay defenceless on the ground. Mom lay there for a while, but then she slowly got up and we continued with the skiing.
After we were done mom drove to dad's work, and he drove me home. Mom went somewhere, I don't know exactly where, but when she came home, she was walking pretty bad, even though she had help from two huge sticks, one under each arm. Since then she has spent a lot of time lying on the couch, and being like really careful every time I wanna jump up and kiss her. I do hope that she will learn how to walk and above all, ski again, so that we can have some fun together.
I'll let you know how things work out, until then, all my love, The Wanda
December 31st 2003 Dear Diary! Last week something called "Christmas" happened in our house. To start with Dad brought a tree into the house! Yes, I know it sounds unbeleivable but it's true, a real tree! And that's not all, mom and dad hanged a lot of nice looking toys like balls and glittery ribbons in the tree, and I was not allowed to take any part in the action although I of course tried to show some real enthusiasm. In fact, every time I stand near the tree and wag my mighty tail they start to calm me down and tells me to step away from the tree. I don't know why, I think it's funny the way the whole, big and tall tree starts to shake...
One morning we all got presents, they were all packed in real happy looking papers, and I almost had more fun with the papers than with what was inside. Every time mom or dad put the papers from their gifts away in an empty box I quickrapidly sneaked away to the box and stole the paper and, boy was that fun! I could make lots and lots of small paperbits in only a few minutes, it was almost like it had snowed in the house! Mom was happy.
Oh yeah, and the white thing outside, it's called snow, and it has been coming and going all the time now. I wish it would make up it's mind and either stay or leave, because it's difficult to move outside when the ground is so slippery.
I'm busy again, so I have to quit, but I will put some pics up from this "Christmas"-thing a.s.a.p. Until we meet again, love to you, yours, The Wanda
November 7th 2003 Dear Diary! I have not been very popular in this house for the past few days. But when you are a gal full of energy things happen... Like it was such a big deal that I wanted to play with my friend Candy the other day for example. She was sitting in the car, and I kinda jumped up on the hood to invite her to play and run with me. Nobody had told me that my nails could make scratches in the paintwork, and anyways I think that Aunt Inga's brand new Mercedes Benz looks much more stylish in this new Giant Desing! Mom has been talking about some "in sure ants" a couple of days now, I wonder what those ants are?
Well, who cares, I just hope to get into some serious action with my friend ET soon enough! I'll let you know when things start to happen, until then, take care, The Wanda
October 25th 2003 Dear Diary! Me and mom have been very busy redoing my pictures all over. We had some serious fights about the design of the new pages, but I got what I wanted (as usual), and now they are ready for the net! I have lots of pictures to add still, as we have been busy training also, but that will have to wait untill later.
Anyways, I wanted to take some time and write in my diary, as it has been such a long while since my last enter. Much has happened, one thing is that I now know what the small tents are all about, the ones mom and aunt Mervi built last spring. Beleive it or not, but I am supposed to run first around one, and then into another, where E.T. stands holding the big tugtoy on his arm. Of course that makes me bark at him, cause I wanna have the tug, and after some barking I get it. How simple can it be...? It's very funny, and I just love running between the tents, or "blinds" as mom calls them. Mom makes a big fuss about it, she acts real silly, like I'd done something GREAT, I really don't understand why. But what else is new, I mean she often acts silly. Sigh.
Oh, and one piece of great news, the white stuff is back! I love to run and jump in it, dig in it and stick my nose deep, deep in it. Oh, how I wish my bro and sis in L.A. could experience this, they would go crazy, trust me! Snowy, Happy thoughts to you, Halle and D, and all my friends and family out there, hope you enjoy my new picture-pages, I gotta run out into the snow now! Biiig Hugs, The Wanda
August 11th 2003 Dear Diary! I was right about mom being up to something with the van, last weekend we stayed in it again over night, and spent the days having a ball. We started out with field tracking, it's become so nice nowadays, the food on the field is getting better and better, yummy! Then we rested for a while, and then we played, me and a very good friend of mine called "Topi", who is a Briard, and I just love to play with him!
The people looked very tired as this moment, their eyes started to shut, but somehow the got their acts together, and we went to the trainingfield. I did some obedience with mom and then I bit Achim in the arm, which was very fun. He had a huge tugtoy on his arm, and I got to jump up and bite in it. The people had coffee and blueberry pie, and I think they had a very nice time according to the laughs and the sound of their voices.
Now I sure am a bit tired, but just wait until tomorrow, then I will start torturing mom again. Please enjoy the new pics and stuff!
Love, yours, The Wanda
August 5th 2003 Dear Diary! I feel ashamed of myself for not writing and telling you what's going on! It's just that I have been taking mom out and about all summer, so we seldom have the time to really sit down and concentrate on writing. I still unfortunately need mom's help to write, if I did it myself it would look something like:
s9egsjis42´+=(/%4fkfh,b kse9293120 *^?
Even though I am sure you understand what I mean, I think it's better for me to dictate and mom to write.
Anyways, I have had a great summer so far, it has been very warm and nice, almost like back home in California. We have been driving around in the van, me and mom, and for a while there I thought it really was our new home, but we eventually got back to dad and Taiga. I have been training mom a lot, obedience, and tracking, which she's now really good at, she lets me pick up the goodies from the field without disturbing me, I like that. In the middle of the summer we stayed somewhere for quite a long period, like six months or so, and I got a new friend to play with, his name is Esa. We did the same stuff I do with Achim, only twice a day, every day, and I loved it!
I have also gotten two new handsome boyfriends, you can look at their pictures on my photo-site, I had so much fun playing around with them in the forest.
For now we are back living in the house again, me and mom, but it seems like she's up to something with the van again, I will have to get back to you on that one...
What else is new... oh, yes, my friend Candy had surgery yesterday, 'cause she had eaten a tennisball, and it got stuck somewhere in her stomach!!! I have been telling her thousands and thousands of times to chew the stuff before swallowing, but no, she wont beleive me! How else are you supposed to eat your mom's boots...
Until we meet again, all my love, Wanda
June 20th 2003 Dear Diary! Over a month has gone by since I last had the opportunity to get to the puter on my own, boy do I have a lot of stuff to tell you!
I have been playing a lot with mom and Achim, and I have now learned, that the thing when I eat sausages from the ground is called "tracking". Me and Wonni and Koltti went to Pori one weekend, and we did a lot of that Tracking-thing, I have added some pictures of it on my picture site, so that you can get an idea of what it is.
I have also had a lot of fun with my friend Candy, the Malinoise, she is my bestest friend in the whole world and I tell her all my secrets! We love to run around and compete in who is running faster, and every now and then we bite each other in the neck, one of my favourite things to do!
About a week ago we went for a drive in mom's van again, me and Wonni and Koltti, and we arrived somerwhere in the middle of the night. The rest of the croud went to sleep, easy for them to do, when I had the night shift as guardian dog. I sat looking out the window, making note of every bird that made a move, for two hours, until the night shift was over at 4 AM in the morning. Mom told me to get some rest, so I did that, but my morning shift started at 6:30 AM, so I did not get very much sleep that night. A dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do. Mom stayed awake with me, 'cause of solidarity I assume, but she was kinda grumpy the following day... Well, I know I did my duty, so no one can complain about that!
Playing with Achim has been very fun the last couple of times, I have gotten help from a few friends, we are all standing in a ring and poor Achim is trying to keep his toys for himself in the middle of the ring. We all bark as hard as we can, and usually Achim is left with no toys as me and one of my friends rips the toys away from him. We all feel very, very proud of ourselves when it's over and run to our cars with our heads held high.
I will get back to a.s.a.p. or when I have any interesting news!
Always yours, The Wanda
PS. I heard from mom that grandpa Rico has passed away, I wish there was some way I could comfort my family back in the USA, they must be feeling very sad. Sigh.
May 15th 2003 Dear Diary! It's been a while again since I last got to write to you, but my mom has been very sick with a flu and a high fever, and for some reason she doesn't want me to mess with the puter all by myself, I wonder why?
It has been quite dull around anyway, so there's not much to write about, the only fun I've had during these past two weeks has been the trips we have made to go play with Achim, I only wish that it could happen more often.
Oh yes, one funny thing happened yesterday morning while we were having coffee, mom heard a strange little bark coming from outside, and when she went to see what it was, she saw our neighbour's boy "Risto" barking and scratching on the door wanting to come inside. Mom didn't let him in, but I must admit that I have been leaving small messages around the village for all the boys, asking them to pay me a visit... Here is a picture mom took of him being busy with his proposal, handsome boy, huh?Admirer
Well, nothing came out of that, I'm sad to say, Risto's dad came and grabbed him and took him home, so I guess we just have to love each other from a distance. Sigh.
So, that's all this time, I do hope I will have something more exciting to tell you in my next entry, signing off for now, always yours, The Wanda
April 28th 2003 Dear Diary! Something BIG happened to me today! I am no longer a puppy (a fact that seems to be hard to digest for mom) but a young woman, and I get to wear a pair of cool, black pants when I'm inside. How about that!
I had a wonderful time last weekend, mom and I went out to the sausage field on Saturday, and again there was sausages for me to pick up in the middle of the field. This has happened a lot this last week, and I have learned that it's best not to lift your nose from the ground at all, not to miss any of the treats. I waited in the car for a while, and then mom came for me again, and we went for a looooooong run, Ida, Candy and me. We had the greatest of times, and to really show mom how happy I was, I took a swim in a nice ditch filled with brown, heavenly smelling water when we were returning to the car. Boy did I have a nice time!
On Sunday I took mom to the field again and this time Achim was there also. He watched me pick up the sausages from the field, and I must admit that I don't excactly know why, maybe he would like to do the same thing or? Well, anyway, later we went on to playing with the tug toy as usual, and I was having a ball, of course.
All in all it was a really successful weekend, tiring though, so I guess I'll have to leave you all for now, in order to get my beautysleep.
Always yours, Wanda
April 23rd 2003 Dear Diary! My it's been a long and busy weekend! I found out what the tents where all about, you would never beleive it, but Achim actually tried to hide in one of them. The tent was way too small, mom didn't have a clue when she and aunt Mervi made them... Achim made himself as small as possible, and then different dogs were set free to find him. Talk about piece of cake! Of course they found him, and started barking and yelling and yelling and barking, until he finally stepped out of the ridiculous excuse for a tent and started playing with them. I was hoping I'd get to it too, but I did not... maybe one of theese days I will!
On Saturday mom had probably been out walking in the field keeping my treats in a torn pocket, because she came and got me from the car and asked me to pick up all the treats from the field, and she didn't want any to get left behind. At first I was in a hurry, because I remember this happening in the forest last summer, and there was usually bigger treats to catch after a while, but mom was real determined that I'd pick up all the sausages. Well, I didn't mind, of course, and shortly I started to slow things down picking up the treats one by one. After a while we came to a stick, and I pushed it a little with my nose and mom went crazy with joy. She gave me lots and lots of sausages, and started to jump around like crazy. I guess that stick was really important to her? Humans - I'll never understand them...
Gotta go, time for bed, yours, The Wanda
April 17th 2003 Dear Diary! Seems like my inputs here keeps coming in more and more seldom...I just gotta get mom off the puter more often, so that I can get to use it myself!
One thing I have figured out theese days, I DONT LIKE WATER PUDDLES! If mom parks the car so that I have to jump out of it into lots of cold water I rather stay in the Van. She can jump in the cold water herself, if she likes it that much. And I can tell you, boys and girls, there is a lot of water puddles around these days. It almost seems like the cold white stuff (wich I'd prefere) is turning into water... could that be the case? Anyways, I don't like it at all.
Mom has been very busy the last few days, so I have the distinct feeling that something BIG is going on. She has been running up and down, and yesterday her friend Mervi was here, and they acted real stupid out in the garden. She was proud of herself when she finally came inside, and me and Taiga waited enthusiastically to see what they had accomplished together, but all I saw when we went out relieve ourselves was something looking like two tents that had gone bad. I guess I'll be getting an explanation for that soon, and I will make sure to tell you all about it immediately!
Always yours, Wanda
April 9th 2003 Dear Diary! I have been waiting eagerly to write to you, but I wanted to wait for the new pictures to arrive so that I could put them on my picture-site on the same time. We went for a car ride again, me, Ida, Candy and our moms, and I was pleased to see Achim when we got to our destiny. I'm a bit dissapointed though, because we didn't go to the nice place full with poop, but I guess you can't have it all. It was fun though, mom fed me sausages for a while at first, and then I got to fight with my friend Achim again. He really kinda made me mad this time, I had to get real serious with him before I got to keep my toy. Strange man... Anyways, I won in the end again, and got to strutt away with the prey.
Somewhere in the middle of my fight the heavenly smell of a croissant got to my nose, and for a while there I thought about quitting and going for it, but I decided that playing was more fun. And I didn't want to let poor Achim down, as he so obviously still wanted to play.
The white, cold stuff that someone layd all over the ground outside seems to be melting away theese days, and the ground is full with scents to die for and nice dirt to eat! I will keep you updated on that as the weeks go by.
Until we meet again, sincerely yours, Wanda
April 1st 2003 Dear Diary! It has been a busy week! I took mom out to train obedience many nights during the week, and on Sunday I took her to train with Achim again. Achim played around with a strange tug toy made of wood, and he put his hands over and under my mouth every now and then, like as if he was making sure I wouldn't let go, but you know me, I didn't. It was a bit strange though, not as nice to bite on as the tug toy. I did very well on Sunday, mom was so silly and hugged and kissed me, she can be so stupid sometimes. Today I finally had time to write to you again, and I also put some pictures on my picture site, there are new ones from my birthday party, and quite a lot from last Sunday's training. Oh and we did another new thing also, mom left me in the hands of Achim, run away and called me. Then when I run to her (of course I did, she's the one with the food) and sat down in front of her, everyone was happy. I wonder if I ever get these humans... Well, anyways, I aim to please, so I guess it was the right thing to do.
O-oh, dinner is ready... see you!
March 24th 2003 Dear Diary! Today is my birthday, I'm now one year old! That's quite easy to remember, if anyone asks... We had a big party yesterday, mom made me a cake in the shape of a bone, and me and Taiga helped out as much as we could, especially with the white, fluffy whipped stuff she put on top of the cake. None of my Godmothers was able to come, which made me very, very sad and dissapointed, but I still got a lot of fun guests to play with. They all brought me toys and stuff, pigears, chewingbones and so on. Then they sat around the big table for a while (Why does people do that? It would be easier for us dogs if they sat on the floor!) and me and Taiga tried our best to look cute and get a snack here and there.
Then we all watched a video with a German Shepherd who had trained a man called Dean Calderone. He had been in Finland for a trial, but he lives in the U.S. and mom told me that my sis Halle and my bro D are going to go train that same man in a short while! That's great, 'cause the man seemed really nice!
Well, this is all I have time for now, I slept a bit to long this morning, as it was a late night yesterday... Until we meet again, Wanda 1 yrs.
March 19th 2003 Dear Diary! Sorry for not writing in such a long time, but I have been so busy this week. I promise to write more often in the future, cross my heart. Anyways, here is an update on last weeks events!
Last Saturday me, Candy and Ida went for a ride with mom's car, it took quite a while, but it was worth it, boys and girls, 'cause when we finally arrived at our destination, there was not only Achim waiting for us, but a big, big house full of horse poop! Mom tried to get me interested in sausages, but hey, first things first, I thought I died and went to heaven, the smell in there was so amazing, that I just couldn't keep my nose off the ground.
She tried to play with me also, and not to make her toooo disappointed I went along for a while, but then I went back to concentrate on the poop again. I wasn't able to resist Achim though, he is such a good player, and I decided to put up a real fight over the tugtoy this time. I wonder what happened to the pantleg, he never offered it to me this time? But anyway, the tugtoy was actually more fun, and I'm happy to tell you that I won it again, even though it was close!
On Sunday morning me, Taiga, mom and dad went to "vote", it was fun because there was a lot of people coming and going, and I decided to wag my tail at ev'ryone, because I wasn't that sure if I knew them. Mom and dad was feeling real proud of themselves when they were done, so I guess "voting" is either very difficult, or extremely painful.
The pulling of my coat has been going on every now and then, but I keep a close eye on the watch to be sure not to stay calm more than an hour every time. I figured out something today, and as I think it can be helpful to all of you boys and girls who have to go trough the same thing, I thought I would share it with you before I stop for today. At first you ask your mom (or who ever starts to pull off you coat) if you can take a bone, or a chewtoy with you up on the table. Tell her that you will be real calm if you get to take it, as it will help you pass the time while the pulling goes on. Then when you are up on the table you start dropping the bone on the floor every five seconds, and our mom will pick it up. This will get you trough the hour a lot easier, I promise!
Well, that's all for now, I will write soon again, I wanna tell you all about my birthdayparty, which is this Sunday, it's gonna be lots of fun.
March 13th 2003 Dear Diary! Something terrible happened to me today. It started out really promising, as mom lifted me up on the grooming table, and I noticed at once that Taiga was very jealous (she has been up there a lot lately, and mom has been "driving" all over her with a funny little machine that makes a buzzing noice. She is all lean and her coat is very short now). I thought something similar was going to happen to me too, but you'll never guess, boys and girls, she started dragging and pulling my hair till it came off!!! I am bald! This is so embarracing, I look like the American Boldheaded Eagle, and I sincerely hope that we wont meet anyone I know when we go out for a walk tonight. Fortunately I still have a lot of coat left on my body, I put up a real fight, you know, and she had to let me down after a while. I cannot understand what this is supposed to be good for, and mom certainly is no favourite person of mine right now.
March 10th 2003 Dear Diary! I have two things I wanna share with you today. First a little game I came up with during the weekend, it's an activating game for parents and I call it "Daddy On The Floor". It's goes like this:
#1 You lay down on the floor with your nose under a couch or a chair.
#2 You start wagging you tail ( if you don't own a tail you can use a little cry with a touche of desperation).
#3 Daddy lays down on the floor besides you and puts his arms under the couch and starts swinging them from side to side. I can assure you it's very amusing. You can also activate your Mommy the same way, only you have to change the name of the game, of course!
The second piece of news is that I saw Achim again yesterday, it's been such a long time since we last met. At first I took mom for a walk and she fed me sausages and then we played around a couple of times, but then I got to play with Achim. At first we played with my favourite toy, a pantleg, and then Achim offered me a tugtoy, the one I use to play with mom with. I'm a polite girl, so I grabbed it a bit, but I made it very clear that I like the pantleg better, so fortunately he switched back. We had a great time, and finally I got to jump up at him holding the pantleg the way that the pics on my "Coming Events"-page describes. Very, VERY fun!
Well, that's all for tonight, I hope to write soon again, yours, Wanda
PS. I also met the most wonderful boy yesterday, mom told me his name is Diudis Andante by Giga, and I think I'm a bit in love...
March 2nd 2003 Dear Diary! I am very tired but happy today! First of all I just found out that my Grandpa Rico is feeling better after not being well for a few days. That's great news! I'm tired because my mom and dad had several people over last nite, and me and big sis Taiga had a lot to do all evening. I had to do all the jumping on people myself, as she don't do it for some reason, strange?
Anyways, I was very busy all nite, there was about 25 people here and they sang to daddy and then everybody had cake, and I tried to steal as much treats as possible. It funny how some people doesn't see it coming, a dog can just kinda walk by and snatch big chunks of chocolate cake or wathever. This morning we slept very late, and mom and dad are strangesly calm and pale, I wonder why?
February 26rd 2003 Dear Diary! My mom's friend Inga called us this morning and told us that my friend Achim's dog Kleo von der Weyermühle passed away today at 13 years of age. She was a really special dog, someone to look up to for all us other dogs! Mom told me that one year ago today her dog Angie, also a P/S Giant, passed away, and Mom got tears in her eyes when she talked about it. I will ask her to tell me all about Angie, so that I can write about her on my Family Page. Sigh. All in all a very sad dog day this February 26th.
February 24rd 2003 My homepage is on the Internet! Yippeee! From now on you will be able to read about all fun and exciting stuff that happens to me, my family and my friends! I'm gonna add a lot of fun pictures to my site as soon as possible, this is only the beginning, I promise you. Please come back and read about my escapades, my mom says I can really be too much sometimes, I wonder what she means? Well, anyways, hope to see you soon!
PS. I'm 11 months old today!
