October 2000

Valkeakoski, Finland (Geographic Longitude = 24E; Geographic Latitude = 61N; Corrected Magnetic Latitude = 57)
Other notes:
During this month the weather got pretty cloudy, but still I saw many impressive auroras. Also photographed two fairly large displays, which are not displayd here because of lack of scanned images.

22/23

Lens:28mm f/1.8 at f/2.0
Film: Kodak Gold (negative) 400
Exposure time:
15 sec.
Other notes: Scanned images from Kodak's picture CD. Display itself was quick but impressive. Very bright and also somewhat colorful! :-)

???

Lens:28mm f/2.8 at f/2.8
Film: Kodak Gold (negative) 400
Exposure time:
30 sec.
Other notes: Cheap scans (web images) were made in the photolab (IFI) and the contrast have been little increased afterwards. This was my second try with recently purchased 28mm f/2.8 lens and this time I was finally convinced that the lens was not fast enough for aurora photography. Otherwise the display it self was pretty nice...very quick (duration about 2 min.) bright one.
