New Champions!

01/28/07

"Luken" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) completed his showcarreer in the U.S. by gaining the qualifying Major points at the Florida Circuit in January 2007. He was taken over by Carol Herr to be trimmed and shown by her and got his first three point Major win as he went Best of Winners on January 11th in Sarasota. Nearly a week later he went Best of Winners again and got his second three point Major win on January 16th in Brooksville. At this point he needed only one point to finnish! Would we be able to complete this mission before it was time for us to go home on Monday January 22nd? Well, the luck was on our side and he got his third Major win as well as Best of Winners on Thursday January 18th - mission completed! Thank you Carol Herr, Klayton Harris and Carol Postley for making this all possible!

At the Oulu Int'l show on 8th October "Frodo" Slievemish Lord of Rings (owned by Marja Jaakonsaari) got his qualifying Certificate for the Finnish Championship. He was also Bos and got the Cacib. "Frodo" is the fifth Champion from the L-litter and that makes all of them Champions in that litter!

At the Mäntsälä all breed show on 23rd July "Diva" Slievemish Lucky Diva (owned by Susanna Rajala) was BoS and got the qualifying Certificate for her Championship. "Diva" is 60th Slievemish Champion!

"Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) got his 10th and qualifying Certificate for Finnish Championship in Joroinen on 6th May. "Luke" got also CAC for Russian Championship at the Vyborg show on 20th May where he also finished Group 1st. He also got the Estonian CAC while visiting Pärnu on June 17th as well as the Swedish CAC in Gällivare on July 2nd. So now he is Finnish, Russian, Estonian and Swedish Champion at the age of two years and 4 months! "Luke's" sister, "Wilma" Slievemish Little Diamond (owned by Riitta Holsti & breeder) got her fifth and qualifying Certificate for Finnish Championship at the Savonlinna show on 8th July. She also got the Estonian CAC in Pärnu on 17th June where she also finished Group 2nd! "Ines" Ch Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder) got the qualifying CACIB for her International Championship at the Gällivare show on July 2nd.

At the Lappeenranta International Shows on 17th April "Uno" Ch Slievemish Irish Imp (owned by Pia Tähti & breeder) was BoS and got the qualifying Cacib for his International Championship.  "Sohvi" Slievemish Luxury Design (owned by Tarja Väisänen) got her fourth and qualifying Certificate for the Finnish Championship.

"Wilma" Slievemish Little Diamond (owned by Riitta Holsti & breeder) qualified herself to climb up to the second class in Agility Trials. "Wilma" and Marjukka Sarkanen won also the Silver Medal at the Finnish Senior Master Competition! Congratulations Wilma and Mallu! That's the way to do it!

"Sohvi" Slievemish Luxury Design (owned by Tarja Väisänen) has already qualified herself to climb up to the third (highest) class in Agility Trials. Congratulations Sohvi and Tarja! Go for it!

Show Success!

"Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) started his showcarreer in the U.S. at the end of September. During the first weekend he was shown by the breeder at the Ocala (FL) shows and he was both days Winners Dog and Best of Winners as well as BOS on Saturday 30th September and BOB on Sunday 1st October gaining 2 points from each show. Next weekend was the Montgomery Weekend and on Sunday 8th Oct. at the Montgomery show"Luke" won the Open Dogs and ended up winning Reserv Winners Dog! The handler, Klayton Harris did a marvellous job - he got the dog at his hands just couple of days earlier in the middle of the show hustle! After that "Luke" has been shown three times: Albany, GA on 21st October he was Winners Dog, Best of Winners and BOS (1 point), St. Louis, IL on 1st December he was Winners Dog and Best of Winners (1 point) and 2nd Dec. he was Winners Dog  with 1 point. So he has now almost half of the 15 points needed for the Am Ch title, but the trouble is that he still needs two Majors but there has not been enough competition for Majors.

"Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder)  has continued with success at the shows - at the Imatra all breed show on 13th August he won the Terrier Group and ended up BIS 2nd! At the Porvoo all breed show he was also Group 2nd. His sister "Wilma" Slievemish Little Diamond (owned by Riitta Holsti & breeder) was BoB and Group 3rd at the Int'l Show in Oulu.

"Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder)  has had some nice success at the shows - in July he was placed at the group at all breed shows in Savonlinna (Group 4th), in Laukaa (Group 4th), in Kotka (Group 3rd) as well as he won the Group at the Mäntsälä all breed show. "Ines" Ch Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder) has been shown couple of times and she went BoB in Salo on 8th July as well as in Helsinki on 16th July. "Siiri" Slievemish Original Choice got her first Certificate at the Salo Show. "Hektor" Slievemish Notorious Blue got his second Certificate at the Savonlinna Show on 8th July. "Frodo" Slievemish Lord of Rings got his second Certificate at the Mikkeli Int'l Show on 30th July.

"Wilma" Slievemish Little Diamond gave birth to 4 male puppies and 4 female puppies on 9th April. The father is "Lassi" Slievemish Flash of Irish. All puppies have already a home of their own!

At the Seinäjoki all breed Shows on 22nd and 23rd October "Wellu" Slievemish Knight of Blue (owners Jouni Mäkinen & breeder) got his qualifying Certificate for the Finnish Championship on Saturday. He was also BoS both days (Sat & Sun). On Sunday "Diva" Slievemish Lucky Diva (owned by Susanna Rajala) got her fourth Certificate and was 2nd Best Bitch.

On 17. September "Lassi" Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) was Best of Breed at the Terrier Specialty arranged by the Finnish Terrier Assosiation. BoS was "Sohvi" Slievemish Luxury Design (owned by Tarja Väisänen) who got also her third Certificate. "Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) was 2nd Best Male and got his 9th Certificate. Slievemish Breeder's Group was BIS-3 at a very tough competition.

 

"Dino" Slievemish Fortune Hunter (owned by Heidi Mikkonen & breeder) was BoB at the Tervakoski show on 4. September.

"Uno" Ch Slievemish Irish Imp (owned by Pia Tähti & breeder) was BoS at the Helsinki-Vantaa all breed show on 3. September. "Lora" Slievemish I'am A Believer (owned by Natalia Rynty) got Reserv-Certificate at the Vantaa on 3. September and at the Porvoo show on 11. September.

 

"Uno" Ch Slievemish Irish Imp (owned by Pia Tähti & breeder)was BoB and "Kusti" Slievemish Known for It (owned by Katja Ihatsu) got his second Certificate at the Heinola show on 28. August.

 

At the Tallinn Int'l Show on 27. August. "Uno" Ch Slievemish Irish Imp was Best of Breed and got also the Cacib.  "Jade" Ch Slievemish Easy Choice (om. Terhi Valli) was Bos and got the last qualifying Cacib for her Int Ch title but also the Certificate with the Estonian Champion title.

At the Hämeenlinna Int'l Show on 20. August "Diva" Slievemish Lucky Diva (owned by Susanna Rajala) got her third Certificate and was Best of Opposite Sex from the Junior Class! As she was not able to receive the Cacib, it went to the 2nd Best Bitch who was "Ines" Ch Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder). "Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) was 2nd Best Male and got his second Cacib and one more Certificate. "Uno" Ch Slievemish Irish Imp (owned by Pia Tähti & breeder) was 3rd Best Male and got the Reserv-Cacib. Slievemish Breeder's Group was Best of Breed.
 

"Ines" Ch Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder) was Best of Breed and "Lassi" Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) was BoS at the Turku all breed show on 13. August.

"Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) got his first Cacib and seventh Certificate at the Joensuu Int show on 6. August. He was also BoB while his sister "Wilma" Slievemish Little Diamond (owned by Riitta Holsti & breeder) was BoS with her first Cacib and her fourth Certificate.
 

"Ines" Ch Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder) was BoS at the Pori Int with Cacib. At the same show the Slievemish Breeder's Group was placed BIS-4 in very hard competition with numerous beautiful Breeder's Groups!

"Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) got his fifth and sixth Certificates on the weekend of 23. and 24 July. He was 2nd Best Male at the Vantaa all breed show and BoB at the Kuopio all breed show. His sister "Sohvi" Slievemish Luxury Design (owned by Tarja Väisänen) got her second Certificate at the Kuopio Show.
 

"Diva" Slievemish Lucky Diva (owned by Susanna Rajala) won her second CAC and even BoB at the Ypäjä all breed show on 17. July. "Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) was BoS.

"Uno" Ch Slievemish Irish Imp (owned by Pia Tähti & breeder) was BoB at the Ristiina all breed show on 9. July and ended up Group Second! "Ines" Ch Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder) was BoS at the Ristiina show, "Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) got his third Certificate and his sister "Sohvi" Slievemish Luxury Design (owned by Tarja Väisänen) got her first Certificate - now everyone in this litter has at least one CAC! The day's success was completed by the Breeder's Class which was placed 4th in BIS Breeder Competition.

In Estonia at the Pärnu Int'l Show on 2. July "Uno" Ch Slievemish Irish Imp (owned by Pia Tähti & breeder) was 2nd Best Male with Res-Cacib and Certificate which made him Estonian Champion.  "Jade" Ch Slievemish Easy Choice (owned by Terhi Valli) wasi 2nd Best Bitch with Res-Cacib.

"Ines" Ch Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder) was Best of Breed, "Bette" Ch Slievemish Better Choice (owned by Raija Askola) was BoB Veteran and "Wilma" Slievemish Little Diamond (owned by Riitta Holsti & breeder) got her third Certificate. Slievemish Breeders Class was BIS-2.

 

"Diva" Slievemish Lucky Diva (owned by Susanna Rajala) is already fourth of the littermates to achieve their first Certificate. Diva got her CAC at Saarijärvi on 18. June..

 

At the Porvoo show on 12. June "Mosse" Int Ch Slievemish Xmas Vindicator (owned by Pauliina Pietilä) was BoS and also BoB Veteran and "Wilma" Slievemish Little Diamond (owned by Riitta Holsti & breeder) got her second Certificate.
 

"Kusti" Slievemish Known for It (owned by Katja Ihatsu & Jenni Kota-aho) got his first Certificate at the LKC show in Helsinki on 29. May. He won also Best of Breed!

 

"Uno" Ch Slievemish Irish Imp (owned by Pia Tähti & breeder) has been shown only couple of times this year but he has won four Cacibs and he became Swedish Champion, too.He got the  Cacibs at Tampere on 20. March, at Hamina on 21. May and at Helsinki on 22. May and in Sweden at Österbybruk on 14. May.
 

"Dino" Slievemish Fortune Hunter (owned by Heidi Mikkonen & breeder) and "Ines" Ch Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder) visited Vyborg on 21. May and they both got two Certificates as well as the title of Champion of Russia. Dino was also BoS at the other show there. 
 

"Taika" Slievemish Irish Elf (owned by Laura Ojala & Hannu Orrenmaa) has achieved the Finnish Championship at the Oulu show on 7. May. Congratulations!

"Lassi" Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) took the Best of Breed at the Finnish Winner-04 Show in Helsinki by winning Ch Geijes Urgent Maximus who was a tough competition all year long as well as the visitor from Sweden, Opus de Chapeau Terrier who is the Top winning Kerry this year in Sweden. This made Lassi the Top Winning Kerry Blue Terrier in Finland.

"Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) was shown at the Finnish Winner'04 Show for the first time as a Junior and he got the Finnish Junior Winner'04 title and was placed 3rd Best Male!

"Mosse" Int Ch Slievemish Xmas Vindicator (owned by Pauliina Pietilä) completed the success of the Slievemish Kerries by taking Best of Breed Veteran! Also the Slievemish Breeder's Class was BoB.

"Lassi" Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) was BoS at the Riga Int Show with Cacib and CAC and with a title of Baltic Winner '04. He was also BoB and Group 2nd at the Jyväskylä Int show on 21st November under Jul Hamlot (Casa de Oro Kerry Blues).
"Sohvi" Slievemish Luxury Design (owned by Tarja Väisänen) was shown at the Jyväskylä International Show where she was the BoB Puppy.

"Luke" Slievemish Legendary Duke (owned by breeder) has started his show carreer with nice success. He has been BoB Puppy at the Lahti all breed puppy show on 17. October, at the Seinäjoki shows on 23rd and 24th October as well as at the Espoo all breed puppy show on 6th November. At both puppy shows Luke was also Best Puppy of the Terrier Group and ended up BIS-4 in Lahti. His sister "Wilma" Slievemish Little Diamond (owned by Riitta Holsti & breeder) started also her show carreer at the Espoo puppy show where she was Best of Opposite Puppy.

"Lassi" Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) was BoB at the Seinäjoki Int show on 23rd October with Cacib. "Jade" Ch Slievemish Easy Choice (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) was 2nd Best Bitch with Reserv Cacib at a tough competition.

Both "Lassi" Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) and "Jade" Ch Slievemish Easy Choice (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) got the Cacib at the Oulu International Show on 2. October and Lassi was BoB and Jade was BoS.

"Ines" Ch Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder) was Best of Breed at the all breed show in Eckerö on 26. September. At the same show "Mosse" Int Ch Slievemish Xmas Vindicator (owned by Pauliina Pietilä) was BoS but also BIS-3 Veteran! Mosse was also BoB-Veteran at the Terrier Specialty on 18. September.

"Diva" Slievemish Lucky Diva (owned by Susanna Rajala) has began well at the shows by winning BoB Puppy at the Terrier Specialty in Hyvinkää on 18. September as well as at the Puppy Show in Hyvinkää on 25. September.

"Laku" Ch Slievemish Huckleberry Blu (owned by Harri Väisänen) has competed with success with Tarja Väisänen at the Agility Trials this summer. This pair has got the results needed to go up to the second class (Maxi II) with class wins at Varkaus on 19. June (result 0 + KUMA), at Mikkeli on 25. July (0 + KUMA) and at Hamina on 31. July. (0 + SERT). Good luck at the Maxi II Class!

"Ninja" Ch Slievemish Heart and Soul (owned by Susanna Mykkänen) has had nice progress on her Obedience Trial career. This summer Ninja & Susanna have got the TK2 title and they are alloved to compete at the third (out of four) class at the Obedience Trials. At the first class (ALO) Ninja & Susanna were competing in 2002 and they got the First Prizes in Kuopio on 1. April (180 points, 2nd place) and in Suonenjoella on 11. July (170 pts., 1st place). First Prices at the second class (AVO) needed to achieve the TK2 title they got in Iisalmi on 20. September 2003 (181 pts., 3rd place), in Varkaus on 8. May 2004 (175 pts., 1st place) and in Iisalmi on 12. June 2004 (170 pts., 2nd place) and moved up to the third class (VOI). Just great - keep it up!

"Lassi" Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) has had some more success as he was BoB at the Kuopio show on 6. August and at the Joensuu all breed show on 14. August. He was also BoB at the Tervakoski all breed show where he also won the Terrier Group. And at the weekend of 28. & 29. August he was shown in Tallinn (Estonia) and he was BoB at the Terrier Specialty on Saturday and on Sunday at the International Show he was BoB as well but also Group 4th!

"Jade" Ch Slievemish Easy Choice (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) has been BoS at the Kuopio and Joensuu shows in August.

"Taika" Slievemish Irish Elf (owned by Laura Ojala & Hannu Orenmaa) got her second Certificate and was BoS at the Haukipudas show on 1st August.

"Lassi" Slievemish Flash of Irish (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) has had some nice success as he has been shown 8 times this year and he has got the Best of Breed seven times. He was BoB at the all breed shows in Oulu and Joensuu in May and also in July in Mikkeli, Orivesi and Ylivieska where he in Mikkeli and Orivesi got also Group 3rd. He was BoB at the Group shows in Kannus and Haukipudas and in Kannus he ended up BIS-2.

"Jade" Slievemish Easy Choice (owned by Terhi Valli & Tiina Paukku) has been BoS at the Orivesi and Kannus shows in July.

"Ninja" Slievemish Heart and Soul (owned by Susanna Mykkänen) was BoS at the Ylivieska show and BoB at the Mäntyharju show in July.

 

More Sad News

We got more sad news - cancer took over Mimmi and she had to let it go at the age of 9½ years. Thanks to Tarja and her family for taking so good care of her.

A tragedy met us at the end of July - Jekku was killed in an accident. She was just so young...

"Jade" Ch Slievemish Easy Choice (owned by Terhi Valli & breeder) was BoS at the Gällivare Int Show on 25th June and got the Cacib and Certificate and became a Swedish Champion.

"Vellu" Slievemish Knight of Blue (owned by Jouni Mäkinen) got his first Certificate at the Kotka Int Show on 20th June at the age of just nine months.

"Pete" Slievemish Inch by Inch (owned by Tuovi Korhonen) was BoS at the Rovaniemi Int Show on 19th June and got the Certificate and Cacib.

Sad News

We got more sad news - cancer took over Miku and he had to go far too early. Thanks to Susanna and her family for taking so good care of him.

In the autumn we lost Viki and Mandi - cancer took them both too early. Thanks to Jaana and Harri for the good care of Viki and to Pia for the good care of Mandi - all the way through.

 

Then just before the Christmas we heard more sad news - Jenkki is gone to the Rainbows Bridge at the age 13,5 years. Thank you Pirkko and Jouni for giving Jenkki so good home!

 

And this week we got more sad news - Siiri had to let it go. She went to the Rainbows Bridge at the age of nearly 12 years. Thanks to Kirsi for letting Siiri to have such a nice life!

Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish "Lassi" (owned by breeder) continued his success and was BoB and also Group First at Rauma all breed show on 3. August. At the Kouvola all breed show on 23. August. "Lassi" was BoS and on the following day at the Heinola show he was BoB. At the Porvoo all breed show on 13. September "Lassi" was BoB again but also Group 2nd. "Lassi" was also BoB at the Terrier Specialty on 20. September, at the international show in Oulu 19. October as well at the Kotka show on November 1st where he was also Group 3rd.

 

Am Ch Slievemish Blazing Diamond "Judy" (owned by Carol Postley) was Best of Opposite Sex at the big Montgomery Show (USA) under judge Scott Kellogg (Camshron Kerry Blues). There was more than 100 Kerry Blues entered!!

Ch Slievemish Fortune Hunter "Dino"(owned by Heidi Mikkonen & breeder) was Best of Breed and Group 4th at the Joensuu all breed show on 17. August.

 

"Ines" Slievemish I've No Choice (owned by Kirsi Hallstén & breeder) was BoS and got her second Certificate at the Rauma show on 3. August. Couple weeks later she got one more Certificate at the Kouvola show where also her brother, Slievemish Irish Imp "Uno" (owned by Pia Tähti & breeder got a Certificate. Also "Uno" got his third Certificate at the Porvoo show on 13. September. "Jekku" Slievemish Jet Set Queen (owned by Raija Askola & breeder) got her first Certificate at the age of 10 months at the Heinola show on 24. August.

Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish "Lassi" (owned by breeder) had another nice weekend at the shows. On Saturday 19th July he was Group 2nd at the all breed show in Forssa and on Sunday 20th July he went Best in Show at the Siilinjärvi show. Ch Slievemish Easy Choice "Jade" (owned by Terhi Valli & breeder) was BoS at the Siilinjärvi show. The success of Slievemish Kerries was completed by the Best Breeder's Group at the show in Siilinjärvi.

At the Siilinjärvi show on 20. July Slievemish Heart and Soul "Ninja" (owned by Susanna Mykkänen) gained her qualifying Certificate for the Finnish Championship. She was also BoS at the Kuopio all breed show on 10. August.

At the Karjaa show on 6. July Slievemish Hazy Amazing "Piri" (owned by Tiia Mellin) gained her qualifying Certificate for the Finnish Championship - she was the 50th Slievemish bred Champion! She was also BoS at the Hyvinkää show next weekend.

 

At the Pieksämäki show on 29. June Slievemish Gallant Goblin (owned by Heidi Soikkeli) got his qualifying Certicate for the Finnish Championship.

Ch Slievemish Fortune Hunter "Dino"(owned by Heidi Mikkonen & breeder) was Best of Breed at Rovaniemi all breed show on 22. June.

 

Ch Slievemish Easy Choice "Jade" (owned by Terhi Valli & breeder) was Best of Breed at the Haapajärvi show on 7. June. She was also BOS at the Oulu show on 11. May and at the Pieksämäki show on 29. June.

"Lassi" Ch Slievemish Flash of Irish (owned by breeder) got his first Group Win at the Klaukkala show on 7. June ending up BIS 2nd. Next day he also finnished with a Group Win at the Salo all breed show.
