Are You collecting things? No, You say. Well, I say that You are. For example, are Collecting, stamps, books, disks, comic books, videos, movies on video, calling cards, signatures of some celebrities, clothes, shoes, hobbies, post cards, magnet memories on fridge, dishes, roses, mash rooms, berries, fine wines, unpaid bills, articles in markets, power, respect, plastic money cards, undone works, dandruff from Your shoulder, new love affairs, premiums, flying miles from air companies, compliments of Your boss, dust in Your home, flab around Your stomach, loose points, cars or just money. So also You are collecting things. I have collected not so actively matchboxes around the world. Here I show to You some matchboxes that I have collected during years. These are about from 30 up to 40 years old. Some are really rareness, some are full of memories to me.
I tried also organize them as: Air planes, ships, memories, travel, hotels and motels etc.
Air line companies:
Finnair matchbox. In the year 1969, Finnair started flights to New York with McDonell Douglas DC-8-62. This type of air craft could transport passenger as cargo. Also it could be changed to cargo plane. Many times it transported tomatoes (40000 kg/ 88183 lbs) direct from Agadir (Morocco) to Helsinki (Finland).
Finnair: Happy landings. Expression: Happy landings has been success for Finnair, because safety is still first expression number one, then come those well known expressions known by every air line companies.
World Airways. This charter flight company flied thousands of Finnish emigrants to their roots from the States and Canada.
Aerolineas Argentinas. Aerolineas Argentinas is national air line company from Argentina. It was established in 1929 and comparing it with Finnish air line company Finnair that was established in 1923, it is also quite old.
Braniff International. I remember Braniff International with love. During many years I have flown with it to South America, especially to Peru Lima where I was shopping Cumbia records. Nowadays I yet collect Cumbia records when travelling in South America.
Ship companies:
Bore. This ship navigated mainly in the Baltic sea. It is from 1960 and later it was baptized to M/S Kristina Regina. This ship is still transporting cruise tourists.
Finnpartner. Finnpartner is made in Finland. It was quite elegant in those days.
Finland Line. I have no info about this ship line.
Memories:
Embassy of USA in Helsinki. I have plenty of good personal memories from the end of sixties.
French-Finnish school in Helsinki. Personal memories, but my children have much more because they graduated here.
Hotels and motels:
Hawaii. Hukilan Resorts hotel. First time I visited in Honolulu in the beginning of seventies. Funny thing for me is in Honolulu avenue called Kalakaua. It is so near to Finnish word Kalakauppa, which means fishmonger.
Miami. Here I spent the night on the way to West Palm Beach.
Hotel Intercontinental in Paris. Nowadays every body talks about Paris Hilton, why not Paris Intercontinental?
Travel Lodge. Somewhere in the States.
Buenos Aires-Washington hotel. Buenos Aires is by the way in English: Good weathers.
Las Vegas. Although I visited here, I am not billionaire!
