Welcome to this introduction to get very tiny idea what there is to be to seen in Finland. There is so many interesting places to be shown to You that it is difficult to make a selection of photos what to show here.
There is 187 888 lakes in Finland. So You meet everywhere lakes and rivers in pure nature. You can stroll freely in nature but nearby there is yet services You be need. When You see my photos You are getting in the same time some information about our history, habits, arts and of course people. Doing it this way it is easy for You to understand some of our habits which may be odd to You. One good example: if You can visit Finnish home, remember inside to take Your shoes off, before You enter rooms.
Travelling is made easy in Finland. Excellent paved highways and roads, You can select buses, air crafts and trains. If You decide to visit northern part of Finland (Lapland) and You are making car vacation, so why not take Your car into the train (for example to Rovaniemi), sleep the night peacefully and continue Your visit fresh in the morning and after 15 minutes of driving You are at the gate of Lapland in the Arctic Circle. Of course hiking is easy in Finland also. There are plenty of guided paths everywhere to hike in the pure fresh nature or in the wilderness.

winter, walk on ice, swim in cold water and at same time make visit to one of worlds hugest snow castle? Think what a experience!

How are Finnish churches? They are outside very rough, but You can never imagine what a beauty they can hide inside and what artistic master peaces there is to be found. Picture is inside view from the church of Tenhola.

excellent time to walk in the wilderness also.
Wooden eagle. When driving in Finland You can find different articles made from wood by chain saw. Here is an eagle. Most popular articles made by chain saw are bears (Ursus arctos). That is why in our past there were plenty of bears in our forests and people loved them. In our language we have many names for bears: "karhu, otso, mesikammen, kontio, metsän omena, metsän kuningas ja nalle" for example. Nowadays there is about 1000 bears in Finland.
