Saga became Top Whippet of the Year #3!

She had (again) a great year in showrings.
We took part to 10 official shows with following results:

8 x best bitch placement

BIS-2 at Helsinki Sighthound Show "Kartano Weekend"
2 x BIG-2
4 x BOB
1 x BOS
1 x BB2
2 x BB4

+ unofficial Whippet Club Open Shows (not counted to Whippet of the Year points):

BIS at Lempäälä (out of 59 whippets)
BB4 at Mustiala (out of 44 bitches)

Saga has been very successful during the years...
She hasn't been multiple winner, but she has been placed 31 times in Best Bitch -class
 out of 42 shows (in Finland) during the years 2004 - 2007.

One judge once told me about Saga like this:
"She is certainly a lovely bitch posessing true whippet type
 to be liked by people from all over the world".
And that's true, if you look her results.

Saga was ultrasounded today. I'm very happy to tell you that
we are expecting puppies to be born at the end of the week 1/2008. :)

Finally some updates...

We have been just relaxing and taking a break from dogshows.
But now we are "back in business"...

Finnish Whippet of the Year 2006 lists have been published...

Saga had puppies in beginning of 2006 and took part only
to five shows in Finland during the year.

Puppies planned at Softouch!

Savu will be mated from her next season (in beginning of 2007).
Sire will be handsome Swedish gentleman Ch Wolf Tone Viking.

When Pirjo told me about this combination, I was more than thrilled.
Planned pedigree contains not only succesfull showdogs, but also
great producers both in Scandinavia and USA. Such as
Ch Bohem Flight Time, Ch Chelsea Drakkar of Oxford,
Ch Airescot Fandango, Ch Starline's Reign On,
Ch Pipsqueak Comanchero and Ch Play A While at Peperone.

All of them are one of my favourite whippet males ever!

Savu did it again today! Like last year, Savu was best whippet at
K-SVKK's (local sighthound club) unofficial lure coursing competition (242 points)! :)

We had quite exciting weekend in Helsinki!

Jade had Puppy Show in Hyvinkää on Saturday, with nice results;
2nd in her class with price of honour.

Savu had her second official lure coursing competition on Sunday.
This time in rainy and windy Tuomarinkartano. Weather wasn't pleasing at all,
but the results were outstanding!

257 + 250 = 507 points with CC (her first!!!)
and 2nd place!
(from 41 whippets, loosing only 2 points to the winner)

Savu had her first lure coursing competition in Jyväskylä with excellent results:

223 + 233 = 456 points with CQ
and 4th place in national class

In July we had two trips to Sweden. First trip was to Högbo 3 x INT shows
with Saga in 14.-16.7.2006 and second one was the annual Skokloster/Tammsvik weekend
(this time in Mariefred) in the end of July. In Mariefred I had both Saga and Savu with me.
Jade had to stay home, because she is still too young to travel to Sweden
(because of the rabies regulations).

After Mariefred show we visited the historical Skokloster castle (where this world known
Sighthound show was founded). I got one really lovely picture of my girls
in front of the castle, as you can see. ;)

Just another fun trip to beautiful Sweden, can't wait next year! :)

Wonderful news from Mustiala Weekend 2006!

On Saturday (Finnish Sighthound Club's Specialty) Jade entered her first dog show and was
BOB and finally BIS-puppy!!! Jade's brother Joiku was BOS-puppy.

   
BIS judge was Mrs Judith Newton, USA


Savu was EXC/3 in Open Class and
Saga 2nd best Bitch after her lovely sister Pippuri (S. Peppar Peppar).

On Sunday Saga was also 2nd Best Bitch.
