Introducing ourselves

Our house called Kotikumpu i.e. HomeHill resides in Kemi, which is a small town in Northern Finland at the Gulf of Bothnia's bottom.

Our Family consists of six two-leggeds: Mika, Kirsi and the children Jimi (13), Renata (9), Ville (7) & Greta (2).

Our first dog was a Pyrenean Mountain Dog "Iita" officially Pyrlab's Agitano. She joined our family in 1992. We began breeding in -94, when Iita whelped her first litter. In overall we have bred 11 litters of Pyrs by so far out of eighth different dames: Pyrlab's Agitano -94. -96; Pyrzillac's Farfalla -98, -99; Pyraryas -02; Pyrzillac's Echina -02, Pyrzillac's Estella -03, Pyrzillac's Gigolette -04, -05, Pyrzillac's Ingalina and Pyrzillac's Theresette -06.

The first Australian Shepherd (Aussie) Chevreherd Tsatsa from USA joined us in -96. Our main interest in these lively herders is mainly their all-roundness in different kinds of dog activities, but we have also began a small-scale breeding trying to bore deeper into this fachinating breed. Our first litter of Aussies was born out of Chevreherd Tsatsa in -98, the next two litters were out of our own bred Pyrzillac's Celeste in -01 and -03 and the dame of our fourth litter was also our own bred Pyrzillac's Barbarossa in -05.

We'd like to describe our philosophy of breeding by few dictums: "The World (or Rome:)) was not built in one day", "The quantity cannot replace the quality" and "The slowlier- the better". Our aim is to breed both mentally and physically healthy dogs fitting well into their breedstandards. We appreciate a lot the co-operation with the breeders in all over the world. We have imported or used as studs many dogs representing different bloodlines (Italy, France, Sweden, Norway, Germany, UK, USA, The Nederlands) and also exported some abroad (Italy, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Russia).

During these years we have been locally active concerning our hobbies in agility and dog-shows. We have taken part to different kinds of courses arrenged by The Finnish Kennel Organisation.
