Some reasons why i have decided to withdraw from SBC TD team. Maybe the most important reason is that i have gotten tired of listening when players call me idiot, crazy, asshole or mother fucker. I have this job volunteerly and i am sure that at least most of my decisions have been fair and according to bridge law. Another reason is that SBC has ONLY 10 very simple rule and some members continuously violate them. There is also too many members who never read the broadcasts sending by TDs. I don’t like that people don’t accept our system but too often complain about it and ask us to change it. I have typed two web pages where i have wanted to help people to be better members and players because i have noticed that many players don’t know what is allowed in bridge. Unfortunately i am afraid that very few members have visited them. It has been very irritating also that people after my ruling start very long complining because of them. It really very difficult to make TD job if u must continuously answer players chats.



And now to something less serious - a story about Omar Sharif:

  Many years ago, Omar was playing a mixed tourney with a lady he had not met before. Having played some boards with highly varied results, Omar suddenly asked his partner:”
 When did you learn to play bridge?”
And before the lady had a chance to answer, he continued:
“ I know, that it was sometime today, but at what time, please.

Once upon a time there was a bridge player. All this happened before anybody had invented bidding cards of bridge. As a dealer he said 1 club following pass, pass and double. Opener said 1 diamond and pass, pass double. Next one was 1 heart – pass – pass and double again. After this opener told. I have the Jack of spades too.

Salted salmon:
 
1 filee of salmon
Rough salt
Dill
Sugar
 
Set the salmon so that skin is downwards, sprinkle salt so that it covers thinly the fish, then 2 or 3 teaspoons sugar and at the end a lot of dill's stems. Finally You must wrap it into baking paper and let it be in the refrigerator about 12 hours. After that You must rinse surfeit salt away and it's ready to serve. When You are serving it, slice it thinly and add leaves of dill on it.
I can't give exact amounts because they depend on the size of the fish.
 
 
Potato casserole:
 
Potatoes about 1 kilo (8-10 of middle size)(1 kilo=2.2lb)
Milk 0,6 litres(1ltr=1.06 qt)
White flour 0.5 dl
Molasses 3 food spoons
Salt 2 tea spoon
Butter 50 g
 
Cook potatoes with skins(no salt in the water), but be careful that they don't get broken very much. When they are ready peel  an puree them immediately.Add flour and blend the mixture well. Let it stay in the warm of the room about 5 - 12 hours.
Add milk, digested butter, salt and molasses. Blend mixture for instance by electric mixer.
In roasting You can use either oven pan or freezing pans as we do. When You fill the pans You must remember, that You fill them only half-full coz it spoils very much.
Roast casserole in 150° C about 4-5 hours.
