FCI Qualification : 2 group

General appearance: large sized, well proportioned and muscled, with a compact skeleton and and although large in size it shall never be lymphatic.

Character and behavior:Brave, with other dogs, it  shows extremely benevolence, knowing its own strength. Should the time arise it is skilled at fight, remembering its acquired behavior after centuries of fights wolves. Bark is low and deep.

Size: minimium limits 77 cm – male

                                72 cm – bitch

Use: Mainly as a defendor for cattle and guardian of people and property. Must be left out of reproduction the excessively shy, cowardly or desequilibrated specimen. In the past, was used as defendor against wolves and bears.

Head: Large and  strong. Relationship between the length of the skull and muzzle is 5:4. From acide it will look deep, not wolf like. Upperlip will cover well to the underlip, but not limping excessively. Underlip bag well marcked whit black colour. Truffle is black, wet, big and wide. Neck is wide, strong, muscled and flexible.

Teeth: White, strong and healthy. Very  powerfull molars. Rather small inscisors. Scissors bite. Complete teeth.

Eyes: Small, almond shape, dark, nice and intelligent look.

Body: Rectangular, wide, strong and showing great power. Wide and deep chest with a well marked breastbone. Well marked withers. Straight topline. Long, wide and powerful loin. Strong bones, cat feet, fingers well arched.

Tail: Strong at the root and medium set.

Coat: Halflong, thick and dence. Length 6 to 9 cm. The texture of coat never will be woolly.Colour snow white with medium grey marks, deep gold yellow, dusk, black, silver grey, light tan, sand or brindle,  always with a well defined mask, marks similar in colour to that of the mask. Red  or yellowhis white for the whole bottom are not desired. Ears always marked. Totally white or tricolored animals are undesirables.

Some of the Faults:Snipey or excessively rounded muzzle. Weak bone. Very curly coat or less than 6 cm or over 11 cm. Depigmented ears. Ears or tail cut. Fragile and lymphatic appearance.

Eliminating faults: Excessive prognatism or enognatism. The absence of white coat. No white markings at the guarters and toes. Absolutly  white specimens. Absence of mask. Coat shorter than 4 cm or longer than 13 cm.
