PARTY OF THE WORKING CLASS
Its
purpose
The Communist League is a party of
the working class. It summons the working people of Finland: workers, office
employees, farmers, intellectuals, self-employed, retired, students and the
youth, to join the ranks of the party. We consider that position and interests
of them, which belongs 90 % of Finnish people, are based on their personal work
and on subsistences gained from it. This makes a firm basis for collaboration
among them.
We even
today live in a society of class division, where the main classes are the
working and the capitalist classes. A small minority of the society forms the
capitalist class, which owns all the means of production. Whereas the great
majority of the society - the working class lacks the ownership of these means,
even though their work produces all the new values necessary for living and for
developing the society. The majority includes also the individuals who manage
on their own, as farmers and other self-employed. The main existing conflict in
our society today is the contradiction between labour and capital. The nature
of labour is social. The workers produce all the necessary products and
services for the people in the society, but since the society is based on
division, the capitalist’s determines the method of distribution.
We, communists, are of the opinion that all the main problems of our society
are a result of the exploitation of the surplus value produced by the workers
and of the false methods of its distribution based on capitalist private
ownership of the means of production.
The capitalists also today want to take advantage of the new surplus value
produced by the workers so as to further increase the concentration of capital
and to strengthen their own competing position, armament and all that supports
the interest of the capitalists individually or in groups. And, herein, the
capitalists get support from their governments and its market economic policy,
including the support of superstructure of the society integrated with its
consensus policy.
The Communist League is acting under
all circumstances according to the needs of the working class and its
allies by organizing activities so as to improve the conditions of the working
people and also to assure progressive development of the society by creating a
steady union between different sectors of the working people.
Scientific
socialism
The Communist League differs in
quality from all the other parties because of its activities, which are based
on the scientific approach to the understanding of social phenomena.
We are of
the opinion that laws founded by Marx, Engels and Lenin are guiding the society
functions and its development. In Europe the market economy capitalism, based
on industrial production, came into existence in the 19-20 centuries, which
lead to an enormous growth of the working class and its pith - the factory
workers. Their duty was to produce an ever-increasing surplus value for the
capitalists. The duty of the farmers, being an indirect object of capitalists’
exploitation, was to produce for the capitalists cheap food products and raw
material and also to assign land for their needs. The capitalists also created
a worldwide colonial slavery, which played a crucial role in concentrating
their capital. The results of this policy led to robbery and extermination of
entire nations from the map of the world. The working class and the farmers
have gone through a severe class struggle against the capitalists and factory
owners.
Many
philosophers and economists have tried to understand the internal moving course
of the society so as to create methods to correct the occurred errors. And
finally it was succeeded, when Marx, Engels and Lenin, from the positions of
working class’ struggle, succeeded in breaking the barriers of the society,
which had been an obstacle to the scientific understanding of the laws of
social development. The results of their research work led to the birth of
dialectical and historical materialism and the science of political economy,
being based on them and to the interests of the workers. So as to separate them
from the bourgeois social science we name these branches of science: Marxism
Leninism. Possibilities to scientific understand of the phenomena of the
society made a turn in
the workers’ movement. It formed the theoretical basis for the organized
activities of the workers. It became possible to understand how to solve the
social problems so as to create a just, socialist society. A workers’ movement,
that is able to show the road to socialism and communism, was born.
The Communist League is a party of the working class. Its most important
aim is to raise the class-consciousness of the working people by organizing
activities, which spreads the knowledge of social science based on Marxism
Leninism.
WE ARE LIVING IN AN TIME OF CHANGES
In
a world of class struggle
The
history of societies has been a history of class struggle. Also the history of
capitalism has been full of severe exploitation and class struggle. At start
the labourers’ workdays went even up to 15 hours. The working outcome of the
farmers were put to serve the capitalists and to concentrate their capital.
Entire nations were massacred and enslaved on the shrine of capitalism. Factory
industries have for centuries polluted the water systems, the air and the soil
while concentrating capital.
In our
world today continues the struggle between the working and the capitalist
classes. Typical of our time is the increasing effort of the capitalists to
expand their economical and political power, which is the reason to great world
wars and even smaller ones. Because of the same reasons the wars creates
disaster for millions of workers. And also typical of today’s class struggle is
the violent combat between the capitalists and the employees in protecting
their interests that have lead to strikes and other forms of workers’ actions.
The class struggle of our time reflects also the struggle for political and
state power. As an upshot, the working class has obtained lasting experience
from the constructive work of the socialist societies. The distinctive
character of the class struggle of our time is the increase of exploitation of
the workers, reaching even a point of absolute impoverishment. Though the
conflicts haven’t led to stronger confrontations between these two classes, it
still does not mean that class struggle has reached its end. It only reflects
the present situation of class struggle, when the workers possibility to
defence the depression policy of the capitalist is weak.
The world
wide aggravation of class struggle is obvious. In place of colonial
slavery we have today economical subordination, neo-colonialism of the third
world. The problems like debts, food, poverty, unemployment, criminality and
exile problems are growing from bad to worse. The world has never seen such a
huge amount of people, particularly children, dying today of hunger. We may
take as an example, the assassination of street children organized by slaughter
groups, that reminds us of today’s stage of capitalist development. In the
former socialist countries we have today a growing amount of poverty, crimes,
illness and unemployment. In Russia the situation is catastrophical, and
simultaneously the bourgeois legalizes its crimes while concentrating their
capital. In the old industrial capitalist countries unemployment, the sinking
trend of the living standard of the masses and the political problems of the
society are a constant phenomenon. All over the world there exists an
aggravation of global environment problems and war threats. Even though the
so-called cold war is in the past, there still is an increase of armament and
largely spread wars in different parts of the world.
Class
struggle today is affecting the whole society. The main task of the communist
is to organize anticapitalist-actions. Communists take part at all levels in
the struggle of the workers and also organize their own actions. We understand,
that in the society the different mass movement and actions, like peace,
environment etc., reflects in the end also the existence of class struggle.
That is why communists take part in all these activities.
Socialism
is an answer to the problems of our time
Marx and
Engels have pointed out that the social problems are caused by the private
ownership of the means of production and may be eliminated only by changing the
society, so that the main means of production are owned by the society itself.
This requires the abolishment of class division and transferring the society
into a class-free society, into socialism and communism. And Marx and Engels
gave this historical task to the working class. It’s based on the fact that the
working class, being an exploited class, is itself interested in abolishing
exploitation. Workers don’t own the means of production, on the contrary, they
earn their living from the salary received by doing work and therefore they are
ready to accept the state-ownership of means of production. The scientific
understanding of society supports the position of the working class and its
allies, which is important when beginning to develop a class free society based
on collective ownership of the means of production. Changing over to this new
society doesn’t happen just like that, on the contrary, it requires of the
workers a high knowledge of different matters, it requires work and daily
struggle.
Communists consider that there is a possibility to finally solve the problems
of society by changing the present capitalist system into socialism. Socialism
is the only theoretically justified alternative to capitalism. Therefore daily
and widely spread activities of the communists serves this strategic purpose of subverting
capitalism and of developing a new class-free society, socialism and communism,
which are based on state-ownership of the means of production.
We
are living in an era of transition from capitalism to socialism
Communists,
in defining the character of the epoch of our time, take also into
consideration, which forces and classes gives the course for the society. This
definition clarifies the certain stage of the development of the society and
from where to where it’s moving. In the 70’s-80’s our definition, when
characterizing the era, was the moving from capitalism towards socialism, and
its main character was dictated by class struggle and based on the coexistence
of two world-systems. This definition had its justification. Side by side
coexisted the socialist world system with its allies, that were moving in a
non-capitalistic direction, and on the other side the industrial developed capitalist
world with its allies. We lived in a world where two systems competed for
dominance.
Despite
that the situation today has totally changed, there is no reason to reject the
previous definition. According to the opinion of many, one of the main reasons
of retreating from the socialist system was the forthcoming of a new situation
based on “peaceful coexistence” of the two social system, where the socialist
revolution process was unable to advance without aggravating at the same time
the military balance between the two world systems. There was also a miss of
knowledge of how to continue develo-ping the economic policy based on
bourgeois state-control and how to move towards the limitation of monopoly
power. This was the meaning of stagnation of the strategy in the communist and
labour movement and was according to the opinion of many the cause of existence
of the stagnation period, which lead to the present situation where socialism
had to retreat one step back.
How are we to define the character of today’s era? It is the restoration of
free monopoly capitalism, fast-increasing gravity of conflicts in the
capitalist society, but also era of the reorganization of the labour movement.
If the coexistence of the two systems prevented the aggravation of imperialism,
then today is the time of aggravation of conflicts between capitalist allies
and blocks and the intention of the supranational monopoly groups to redivide
the world. It’s an era meaning an increase of workers’ exploitation and
deepening of economic depression. But it’s also the time of reorganization of
the workers’ movement and the strengthening of their class-consciousness, where
workers’ revolutionary movement will restart their activities being based on
the experience of the former socialist countries and the whole workers’
movement. The capitalists haven’t the possibilities to stabilize the situation
permanently in their own favour. The aggravation of conflicts in the society
confirms this and thus waits for a solution.
Therefore
our era is still an era of transforming the society from capitalism to
socialism, and an era where the new frontline between the capitalist and
working classes does not follow the line of division between two blocks, but in
form of class-struggle inside each country, nation and group of states, which
means that the continuous struggle against capitalism and its governments will
extend itself everywhere.
This
implies that the Finnish communists are to develop their national class
struggle at all levels and to intensify the developing of international
co-operation among communists.
The
division of the world between capitalist groups is speeding up
The
victory of capitalism over feudalism gave birth to national states, since it
was necessary to create a market large enough to develop the capitalists’
productive resources. Simultaneously the national legislation came into force
so as to guarantee the development of the economy in certain geographical
areas, including disadvantaged areas, like Finland. Today the private capital
has grown so fast that they function supranationally in multistate areas. The
national states from the point of view of big capitalists’ activities
became too suffocating, which led to the creation of capitalists’
monopoly-unions, like EU, NAFTA and the economic region of Japan. Sharpening of
competition forced the big capitalists to divide the world according to
the market-regions and sources of raw material. Every state in the world is to
certain extent and at some level guided by different capitalists’ blocks. The
existence of the world system of socialism held back this tendency of expansion
of capitalism. Today when socialism in Europe has vanished, the intention of
the supranational monopoly to redivide the world is strongly increasing. European
Union (EU) is a result of this development.
The EU
has an intention to build a powerful Pan-European state together with the
supranational monopoly. This is the reason why EU created its own currency
unit, military forces, police, legislative organs and other institutions, that
begun to replace the corresponding national institutions. The political aim of
European Union is to subdue by different means all the European states,
including Russia and the other former socialist countries both politically and
economically. With the help of EU the German capital is trying again to achieve
its goal to rule Europe economically and politically. This aim has also left
its imprint in the German foreign and internal policy.
The
communists opposes under all circumstances the expansion of EU and also the
EU-membership of Finland. EU transfers the economical and political legislative
rights of Finland beyond its boarders and thus exterminates its national
state-legislation, after which the responsibility for the development of
Finland will be transferred to serve the interests of supranational capital.
The EU-development means the strengthening of the new right-wing policy, the
worsening of people’s life-conditions, the increasing of the capitalists’
profits and the eliminating of the workers’ movements and their struggle. EU
means an increase of bourgeois power, and one must not justify it by trying to
find some kind of a pretext that it would be easier for the workers inside EU
to oppose capitalists. Instead of EU. We, communists, will recommend a mutual
egalitarian cooperation between the nationally independent states of Europe.
We, communists, are evolving a united front against the adaptation of EU and
all its established institutions and our aim is to make of it a large
antimonopoly campaign.
The
general crisis of capitalism is continuing
Before
the October revolution capitalism alone governed the world. Above all the
working class of the western capitalist countries struggled against capitalism.
The October revolution gave birth to a new situation, to the foundation of the
first socialist state in the world. The development continued and at the end of
the imperialistic Second World War several countries began to build socialism
and thus an entirely new socialist world system was born. Capitalism didn’t
anymore govern the world alone. Therefore we name the post-October revolution
period - a period of general crisis of capitalism. Today the socialist world
system has vanished. Nevertheless we must not, because of it, go into a
conclusion that the general crisis of capitalism is over. Crisis is caused by
the global problems, which are created by capitalism. The step backward
of socialism reflects the situation, which occurred as a result of the cold
war. It was difficult for the socialist revolution to proceed in a situation
where socialism and capitalism were grouped into blocks. The conflicts inside
capitalism haven’t calmed down. Therefore the only solution there is to offer
is socialism. We are living in an era, where the working class is going through
a period of reorganization of all its actions against capitalism. Capitalism
hasn’t been able to overcome its problems, which gave birth to general crisis
and neither has socialism been destroyed. The general crisis of capitalism
continues.
OUR ACTIONS ARE BASED ON THE EXPERIENCE OF THE
CONSTRUCTIVE DEEDS OF SOCIALISM
A
socialist system is able to solve the problems of mankind.
The
experience of the constructive deeds of Soviet Union, being a result of the
October Revolution, and of the later born socialist world-system has proved
that socialism is capable to solve the problems of mankind. Russia before the
October Revolution and during the time of tsarism was one of the most
undeveloped states in Europe. If its share of the world industrial production
was about 1 %, the share of Soviet Union was 25 %. Soviet Union was able to
provide its citizens with social- and fundamental security and to assure wealth
care free of charge, free education and full employment. Soviet Union had
successfully solved its housing problems and was also able to develop its
country into one of the greatest agricultural state in the world. When the
capitalist world was in the 1930’s in a great grip of economic depression,
Soviet Union fulfilled its five-year plan with success. Based on socialist
planned economy, Soviet Union was able to achieve the leading role in the world
industry and science. An evidence of this is the great factory projects,
electrification of the country, mechanization of agriculture and, for instance,
the achievements in space research. The power of socialism is based on the fact
that the most decisive role in striking back the most powerful war-machinery
was Soviet Union.
The
states of the socialist community, that came to existence after the Second
World War solved also successfully the problems of their people. In these
countries the medical- and healthcare, education system, full employment and
secure living conditions achieved a high level. Noteworthy are also the
reasonable house building projects.
The
socialist system was able to decisively reduce criminality, to end the
exploitation of one by an other, put into effect full employment and to solve
the housing, health service, education etc. problems without the presence of
capitalism. Due to the cruelty of capitalism these problems have now come back.
Defending
peace was most essential for the socialist countries. In result, it was
possible to prevent an outbreak of war in Europe. The existence of socialist
states put a pressure upon the capitalist world to move in a direction of
economic policy, which was based on regulation and also brought benefit to the
working class in the capitalist countries.
The
constructive deeds of socialism in the world shows that it’s possible to find a
solution to overcome the threatening disasters of the world by the help of
socialist planned economy.
Break-up
of socialism and its relation to the development of a world wide class-struggle
Bourgeois propaganda tries to prove that the crisis of the socialist and
communist movement, which appeared in the end of the 80’s, was caused by the
impasse of the socialist ideology and its incapability to give answers to
today’s problems. However, the question concerns only one phase of the
universal class struggle, when the market economy succeeded in overtaking the
positions of socialism and is now trying this way to find a solution to its own
acute problems.
The
socialist system of the world has up till now been the greatest achievement of
the international class struggle of the workers. After the October socialist
revolution many European and Asian countries and also Cuba were moving towards
socialism. The colonial system broke up and many states of the third world made
a so-called non-capitalist choice of development. We also might call the
implementation of the so-called Keynes’ regulation policy in the industrial
capitalist countries a victory of the working class.
The development of class struggle, however, was driven into a situation, where
the socialist and capitalist world systems grouped into regional blocks, with a
military frontline between them. Capitalism responded to the victories of
socialism with an increase of armament and an intensification of military
atmosphere. Though Keynes’ regulation policy signified a retreat from
capitalism and a little more fair income distribution for working class, it
also in the western industrial countries gave the monopoly capital extra time
to bring into power the worker’s reform parties and the moderate bourgeois.
Policy of peaceful coexistence became the tactics of socialism. The limited
economy resources of socialism, however, hindered it from proceeding forward
into the most powerful bastion of monopoly capital, in other words, into the
most developed industrial capitalist countries. Moving forward would have
required a moving from the bourgeois regulation system towards a restriction of
monopoly power, but here the workers’ class struggle wasn’t strong enough. In
the atmosphere of cold war the proceeding of socialism into the capitalist
industrial countries would have meant an intensification of the military
atmosphere. Socialism was forced to back up in an atmosphere, which had
occurred during the years of stagnation.
Market
economy hasn’t been able to solve the problems of humanity, on the contrary,
the situation has become more acute throughout the world and as a good example
we have the depression of market economy in the beginning of the 90’s. But, to
obtain new reliability means that communists should give a scientifically
justified account of the problems of socialism. It’s understood, why the
development of socialism came to an end and why under the existing
circumstances there was a lack of ability to find a new strategy. This would
lay a foundation for finding a way out of the present difficult situation.
The economical and social motives in the background of the growing crisis
in the Soviet Communist Party
Several
factors are in the background of the problems that appeared inside the
socialist and communist movement at this same historical moment and that had
effect on each other. In the beginning of the 80’s the development of socialism
was still rather stable. The rate of its economic growth was higher than in the
capitalist countries.
However,
the intense arms race and the economical and military help that was given to
its allies were a burden to the Soviet economy. The primary reasons for the
critical development in Soviet Union and its Communist party may be found in
the long-standing rigorous centralized control of its planned economy. Though
the industrial life was increasing quantitatively, the functioning and the flexibility
of its economy suffered. The centralized control-system of the economy began to
retard the development of the productive resources to the standard of the 70’s,
and Soviet Union began to have great difficulties in automating its economy,
while in the western capitalist countries it had already made its breakthrough.
This weakened the possibility of socialism to reject the increasing ideological
pressure put by capitalism. To correct the situation there should have been
made a change in the steering of the socialist economy to respond it with the
growth of the forces of production. The decision-makings in the society should
have been transferred closer to the level of production and the socialist
control made more coordinative. The growth of neo-conservatism, which was
caused by the new economic depression of capitalism, hit at the stage when
socialism was facing structural changes.
The
increase of crisis within the Soviet Communist Party
In a
situation like this the CPSU merely focused on organizing the economy, but its
ideological work suffered. In carrying out and fulfilling the economic plans
the responsible capacities were given to the average level financial
management, in other words to the nomenclature. In a situation like this people
began to look for channels that would lead them into the party, and by the help
of party membership they began to seek for career within the society. There was
no longer given any need by being a new party member to understand the
ideological meaning of Marxism Leninism. It was more important to carry out the
economic plans, programmed documents, which were often understood as Marxism
Leninism. As the political consciousness became more and more obscure and the
growth of production began to meet with more and more difficulties within the
nomenclature began, already from its early days, to nestle a whole system of
corruption and bribery, and with their help the responsible organizers within
the production secured the functioning of the system.
The most crucial mistakes of this stage were:
1) preventing private professional working,
2) the state enterprises were not given permission to plan their own production
3) inflexibility in the planned economy laid the foundation of
black-market-capital
4) failure in the ideological educational work - the basis of party work.
As the
problems continued to pile up, they began to disturb the normal functioning
channels of social life. The financial management in charge began to take care
of matters by avoiding the legitimate channels. A new social group came into
existence, which began to amass their personal wealth by bribery and corruption
and began to adopt methods, which were unfamiliar to the socialist society.
This group, responsible for the economy, succeeded to conceal themselves inside
the party machinery, which was out of society control. In this new born
situation, where there was a lack of ideals and existed ideological
disagreement, Gorbatshev, whose lateral thinking supported the benefits of the
nomenclature, was elected leader of the party. At a time like this, when the
economy should have been renewed on the basis of socialism, there didn’t exist
anymore forces among the main financial management and party leaders that would
have been interested in developing socialism. The newborn “capitalist class”
inside the party machinery wanted only to protect there own position and
therefore they were merely interested in experimenting market economy, which
was the meaning of perestroika, but not in developing socialism.
The
lack of ability to correct mistakes
Why was
it not possible to rectify from the very beginning this critical development
and return to the rails of socialism? Reasons are many. In the CPSU itself the
development created differences in ideological views. There was a fear to raise
debate because of ideological differences that might turn up and become acute.
There was not enough courage to raise theoretical debate nor to correct
the structure of the industrial life, since they were afraid that the procedure
of an altered course might lead to ideological differentiation and cause
confusion on that bruising situation of class struggle. The communist parties
of the world were unprepared of the situation, where for them the most central
party, CPSU got itself on the wrong track.
A
discussion on international level was insignificant, because it seemed
impossible to call consultative meetings without notifying paralyzed CPSU.
Neither did there exist any ability to have an ideological debate nor to plan
any common course of action, so as to react to the capitalist attacks. The
CPSU’s party centre was composed of the same corrupted nomenclatures.
Therefore, even the party members weren’t able to respond to the party
resolutions even if they would have wanted to. Because in the CPSU and in the
structure of the Soviet economy there didn’t exist any organ nor machinery,
with the help of which the party members would have been able to put an end to
the start of this critical development.
The
consequences were the crisis of the whole communist movement
The CPSU
was the main cause of the development of the crisis in the whole communist
movement, since there was a lack of an international joint organization and the
world communist movement had from the days before the second world war passed
over the main role of the communist movement to the CPSU. The communist
movement, since the days of Comintern, had no co-organization. One party - the
Communist Party of Soviet Union took over the functions of the communist movement
of the world. This kind of a system is very vulnerable when taking into
consideration that CPSU itself was going through difficulties and there didn’t
exist any collective organ to reason from going into a wrong direction. While
the ideological development inside the CPSU was being cast adrift, it got the
parties of West and East Europe, which were tied to CPSU, involved in the
crisis. The descent of the Western European communist parties was caused by
their full commitment to the CPSU, since they were not capable to let
themselves free from its guardianship, even though it became for all quite
obvious the antisocialist development in the CPSU. Many parties began to change
their names and policy. For example, the Communist Party of Finland (SKP) began
to reorganize itself under the name Left-Alliance and its policy turned
strongly to the right. Part of communist members in the wake of CPSU followed
the development to the very end of its crisis, like the Communist Party of
Finland (unity) (SKP(y)), that was not able to see the antisocialist character
of the development. The proceedings of crisis inside CPSU led to theoretical
estimations, that caused the dispersion of SEV and left the East-European
socialist states alone at the mercy of the ideological and economic attacks
coming from the capitalist countries. The outcome was the crisis of socialism,
which temporarily led the majority of the workers movement of the world into
difficulties and cleared the road for the powers of extreme right.
Today’s
situation has the keys to the upswing of the communist movement
The final
inescapable result of the development was the crisis, which has been the most
essential reason to the disasters to which hundreds of millions of labourers
have been subjected. The crisis itself, however, released the communists, which
had been under the patronage of the CPSU, to re-estimate their position. This
gave birth to a new situation where it was possible and inevitable for the
working class to create a new strategy of action. Communists of the world,
beginning from Europe and including the communists of the former socialist
countries, are now beginning to restore their mutual contacts.
The
Communist League, Finland considers that communists throughout the world should
create a united strategy of action, based on mutual equality, as to overthrow
monopoly capitalism. Created as basis should be an antimonopoly mass movement
having a goal to overthrow the new right-wing economic policy and to move over
to an alternative economic and social policy. In addition to the traditional
working class and its allies: pensioners, farmers, students, unemployed etc.,
included should into the united front also part of the bourgeois, who’s
interests are contradictory to the aims of monopoly capital. This group
includes above all the small and medium-sized domestic enterprises. Though
communists in a capitalist society have their certain position by being
initiators in creating an anti-monopoly movement, they always in taking action
should earn their place in the society and the confidence of their citizens.
One must keep up the ideological preparedness, which means that communists
should at any moment be ready to estimate the character of the social
development so as to secure the moving in a right direction. This preparedness
concerns also when communists have their theoretical discussions.
CAPITALISM AND ITS MARKET ECONOMY IS WORN OUT
Monetarism
- the new right-wing economic doctrine leads to a deadlock
The economic doctrine of the period of depression is monetarism, i.e. new
liberalism. For instance, the distribution of income is changed in favour of
the income for capital. The income of the capital circles is increased
by means of legislation and budget policy. The new right-wing policy means to
put an end to society control and to reduce social securities. Besides there is
an attempt to privatize and commercialize as much as possible the whole social
sector, like the Real Estate administration of the National Building Board,
National Board of Post and Telecommunication, Valmet, State Railways and
Rautaruukki (Ironworks). All this has in Finland and in other market economy
countries led to a widely spread unemployment, to deepening of depression, to
the decrease of the workers’ living standard and to public indebtedness of the
society.
The
financial management of monetary economy increases the gravity of depression of
the capitalist market economy and in spite of the periodical increases of
production and market; there has been no permanent improvement of the
condition of the people. The crisis of the society has become a permanent form
of existence of capitalism.
Capitalism
is not able to undo the economic depression of the society
The
economic depressions, which are typical of the uncontrolled development of the
capitalist market economy, also today result from the relative overproduction
of goods and services. The individual capitalist tries to rationalize the
production so as to decrease its costs below the average level and to gain a
so-called extra profit. This is done by developing technology and by increasing
the constant capital. And as the other capitalists are simultaneously
rationalizing their production
to the same level and even beyond it, happens the rapid accumulation of capital
and the proportion of the capitalist’s profit to the total invested capital
begins to decline. This is what Marx meant when he spoke about the law of the
decreasing tendency of profit ratio. And the capitalist fights against it by
increasing exploitation, in other words, by cutting salaries and social
expenditures and by rationalizing their competitors off the market. The profits
of the capital circles have during these latest years been composed merely of
exploitation of the relative surplus value. The decrease of peoples’ ability to
consume leads in a growing speed to insufficiency for buying the products and
services produced by the capitalists for the market. This has led to economic
depression. And since it isn’t profitable for the capital to invest in production
during depression and since the capital has been exempted, it then begins to
invest in jobbery. The typical characteristic of today’s depression is the new
redistribution of ownership caused by the blasting in- crease of speculation
and its consequences. The free circulation of capital has also increased
explosively speculation between different regions of the world and they don’t
anymore follow the phenomena of real economy. In the end there is an increase
of exploitation of the workers. Depression today differs from former
depressions in such a way that the part of the actual capital in the total
capital has increased to an extent, that it has become difficult even for big
investors to create new jobs. For instance, the distribution of the social income,
resulted from the depression period in the beginning of the 90’s in Finland,
has this latest decade changed almost by 10 % in favour of the
capital. The only way to normalize the situation of the society is to change
the distribution of income more equitably. But by doing so, it would, however,
mean the demolishing of the monetary economic policy.
The exploitation
of the relative surplus value has meanwhile become for capitalists a permanent
competitive factor. In circumstances of monetary economic policy capitalism
isn’t able to demolish the depression of today. Communists, so as to achieve
their goal, find it necessary to develop a mass movement that would be able to
crush the present monetary economic policy.
The
international class struggle gave birth to prosperity
In the western
capitalist countries, before the new liberal right-wing economic policy,
functioned the bourgeois economic policy of Keynes, which is based on control
and social reforms, whereupon developed was the social security system,
improved were the wages and created were the main branches of industry owned by
the state. With the help of this economic policy it was possible to develop a
more just system of distribution of social income, to hold back the outbreak of
the capitalist economic depression and to create, what we may say, welfare.
This policy was based on the strength and ability of the struggling working
class. There existed a strong communist, social democratic and workers’ trade
union movement. In situations like this the capitalists were forced to agree
with reforms. It had success in the western countries only, because their
working class had support from the strong and developing socialist system of
the world.
Although
the economic policy based on bourgeois regulations was unable to eliminate the
monopoly power, it all the same showed, that by controlling the capital it is
possible to stabilize the development of the society and to achieve profitable
results for the whole working population.
Reforms
do not abolish the main contradictions of capitalism
In these
circumstances many reformists announced that the class struggle in the world is
over. Communists, however, in many connections have expressed that in spite of
reforms the main contradiction and class character of the capitalist society
hasn’t changed. The economic policy based on economic control of the bourgeois
society had eliminated the worse contradictions of capitalism, had balanced the
distribution of income and in that way slowed down the breaking of the crisis
of capitalism, but it, naturally, couldn’t abolish the main problems of
capitalism. Its first large depression after the Second World War broke out in
the middle of the 70’s and after that there has been several of larger periods
of depression. People experienced it as a failure of the parties having
government responsibility. When the economic control policy in many western
countries, based on the economic doctrine of Keynes, had brought the moderate
bourgeois and reform parties into government power, these groups because of the
economic depression lost their former position in the machinery of power to the
forces lying more to the right. Simultaneously in the 70’s-80’s in different
parts of the world Keynes doctrine was replaced by the monetary economic
doctrine as a driving force.
Although
the economic policy was based on a system of control, it still was not able to
give results; it couldn’t avoid the appearance of the capitalist
contradictions. It could have been possible to avoid the today’s comeback of
the right wing, but only by increasing the bourgeois control policy and by
eliminating the monopoly power.
This
would have mean then the results, which would have changed the focus of
development to the way of socialism.
The
behaviour of the reformist’ of the left-wing shows their lack of alternative
While Keynes’ economic doctrine was beginning
to shatter in countries ruled by the bourgeois, into power came the
conservative right wing of the ruling bourgeois parties, which began to remove
the moderates and the reform supporting groups. In places, where the social democrats
were able to keep their position, it happened by adapting to the carrying out
of monetary policy. This is how it happened in Fin- land and Sweden, where the
newborn governments in 1995 at the head of social democrats were only able to
offer savings, reorganizations and reduction of social security. This is the
real monetary economic policy, to which the social democrats have adjusted
themselves. They are carrying out this policy so as to maintain their position
as a ruling party of the society. Social democrats in Sweden say that they are
to maintain 70 % of the welfare of the society. In Finland they say that
maintained must be the basic welfare of the society, like certain securities.
Their main purpose is to give the public an impression that they are against
social declination and that they agree only in extreme cases to reorganization.
Practise, however, shows that the reorganization guided by them are more severe
than what the right wing would have had courage to fulfill. This proves that they
haven’t been able to find any alternative to the increase of capitalist
exploitation and to the dead end of its’ policy. It also shows that there
doesn’t exist any such alternative economic policy that would make the
capitalist economy harmonize with the interest of the people.
The
European Union strengthens the power of the bourgeois
The
leaders of the social democratic parties including the trade union and the ma-jority
of the leadership of the left-wing workers’ movement strongly support the
monetarist EU-policy. The reason to this is, that on the pinnacle of the
regulation policy of the bourgeois, the workers’ reform movement has become an
institution of the capitalist society. The only alternative for them, so as to
maintain their former position and at the same time to give a plausible picture
of their own policy, was to adapt to the new right-wing policy. For them the
only possibility was to move over to European Union, where the social
democratic parties of the Socialist International, ruled by them, can be
reorganized into a political power. They try to explain that they are for EU,
because from there they may have a “control over the high financial capital”.
They don’t realize that the EU was built up to prevent the social control over
financial capital and to achieve such a control of the society there is a need
of a strong workers’ combat movement.
However,
in different countries of Europe the majority of the members of the workers’
movements opposed the EU-membership, which proves that the members are ready to
withdraw from the reform policy defending the interests of monopoly. It shows
that among the workers there is a potential readiness to join the antimonopoly
policy presented by the communists.
TO SET FREE FROM MONOPOLY - TO A NEW SOCIAL POLICY
There
is an alternative
The
economic doctrine of Keynes and monetarism has come to their final end. If
there would be an alternative inside the structure of capitalism it would have
already occurred. We, communists, are of the opinion that there is an
alternative to monetary policy in the society and with the help of man’s labour
it is possible to produce all the material welfare, necessary values and
services needed for the development of the society. An alternative can be found
only by letting go of the policy, which defends the interests of monopoly
capitalists. This means there is a need of developing a social control and,
linked to it, a need of just distribution of income. At start it would mean to
return back to the former control policy of the society, but not to stop there,
but on the contrary, cut off forever the possibility of monopoly capital to
return to social power.
This would mean a new policy based on the alternatives of the people by rising,
for instance, the following aims:
1) Big capital stocks and free business has to be put under the control of the
society. Export of capital must be made subject to licence.
2) An end must be put to the privatization of properties and functions
belonging to the society. Whereas new state and municipality enterprises must
be developed so as to secure the regional structure of production and the
employment regardless of the disturbance of market economy. Traffic service,
public health and old-age service, hospital treatment, education, sales of alcohol;
pharmacy service should be developed on social basis.
3) The
monopoly enterprises and commercial banks are to be nationalized. This concerns
first of all the commercial banks, insurance companies and also the power
industry. Simultaneously the financial preconditions for small and medium sized
enterprises must be secured. The taxation of enterprises is to be progressive.
4) Full
employment has to be carried out. This can be achieved by changing the
distribution of income in favour of the labourers, which would lead to the
increase of the domestic market. House building, rebuilding program of the
suburbs and state investments are to be quickened.
5) Put
into effect should be the income reform in favour of salaries by increasing the
salaries, pensions and unemployment security. The minimum monthly salary is to
be 4.500 FM. The basic unemployment compensation should be 200 marks per
workday.
6) On
behalf of the society a social security system is to be developed to provide a
basic living minimum for everyone, who is unable to receive it in accordance to
his or her earned income. To eliminate the cutting down of pension security,
because of unemployment or illness. The pension security foundation is to be
taken under the control of the society.
7) Social
service, like education, healthcare, public traffic etc. should be developed at
reasonable price. To Guarantee the undisturbed production of food products and
the self-sufficiency of agriculture. The working preconditions of private
farmers should be secured.
8)
Finland is to withdraw from the European Union, in other words from satisfying
the interests of monopoly, and to prevent Finland from joining the EU-monetary
union.
This
alternative policy of the people would lead to the foundation of a harmonious and
justice system of distribution of income in the society. This alternative,
however, doesn’t anymore move in the direction of a capitalist society. By its
help cut off will be jobbery and created will be a planned economy and
development without depressions.
Developing
a policy based on cooperation
Cooperation
between different sectors of the labour population is necessary when carrying
out the alternative policy of the society. That is why communists try to build
up a so-called democratic front, which means cooperation among different
progressive forces in favour of a united goal.
The
policy of a united front has traditionally always been brought forth when there
has been a need to move against extreme rightists, fascism, racism, integration
policy of supranational monopoly etc., for nature, environment, fauna and
peace. The meaning of a democratic front is to act against the power of
monopoly capital in the interest of the working people. It should be the topic
issue so as to secure the daily material welfare. There are many different
forms of political cooperation, like unions and organizations, like documents
of action with mutual understanding and other similar forms in organizing the
people politically. Important is to create cooperative forms of action. In the
past the democracy of a bourgeois state was inevitable for the bourgeois in
comparison with feudalism, because it secured the mobility of national
capital and labour. Today the monopoly capital wants to extend its activity
beyond the national borders towards a capitalist federal state or blocks. Which
means to destroy the national legislation, to limit and nullify the peoples’
rights and their possibilities to act. The monopoly has been able to fully
integrate the traditional political parties into the consensus policy and thus
to secure their own policy.
In each
society the global problems of the universe have become very important. This
puts the policy of cooperation in a place of primary importance. As a result in
the changes of the social structure of the bourgeois society, the working class
has become much broader, and its new social ranges do not always realize their
own position in the class society. In the struggle for the rights of the
working people, we need these increasing broad ranges. The policy of a united
front strengthens
the class-consciousness of these different ranges of the working people and
proves to them the strength of cooperation and also teaches them to
understand who actually is their real common enemy and what capitalism is.
Communists understand that cooperation is the only effective way to have
influence in the society life. Alone they would not be able to carry out the
new policy. Therefore communists must take part in organizing cooperation
with other actors on society and also in taking part in its realization.
The
principles of alliance policy
Cooperation
doesn’t mean that the political forces and those taking part in it have to
loose their independence. This principle has to be applied to all parties
involved.
The
carrying out of alliance policy does not for communists mean to withdraw from
their own ideological work and neither to withdraw from their strategic main
task: to build a socialist society. On the contrary, the alliance policy is
mainly a part of this work.
The
working class movement moves from democratic reforms towards socialistic
reforms
The
different forces of the society, as workers, functionaries and their trade
unions, farmers and different parties and mass movements are welcome to take
part in the cooperative political movement. When the work is well organized, it
will give results. We have as an example the social reforms that were carried
out in the bourgeois societies after the Second World War. It also showed that
it’s possible to maintain social achievements, but only by continuing and
strengthening the actions against the capital circles. It’s understood that a
successful reform policy also leads to the strengthening of the bourgeois
resistance. The economical and social interest of the workers and the solution
of the ecological and global problems are generally opposite to the interests
of the monopoly capitalists. Sooner or later the reform policy will be
insufficient. Therefore a readiness is important when the economical and
political power of the society is to be transferred from monopoly circles over
to the working class and its allies. With the help of the democratic combat
unity achieves this readiness. It becomes clear that the only way to solve the
problems is to continue leading the resources of the society towards socialism
by removing monopoly capitalists from power forever.
For
a creation of an antimonopoly campaign and mass movement demanding changes
It’s
quite natural that the majority of the people don’t directly experience the
necessity of socialism, but most of the them understand that a real obstacle to
society reforms is the interest of big capitalists. The antimonopoly mass
movement starts and develops when the critical forces of the society to a great
extent begin to understand that the changes at present stage may be achieved
only by removing the monopoly capitalists. These kind of critical forces exist
among all the ranges of the society, like employees, unemployed, pensioners,
youth, different mass movements, anti-EU campaigners, small and medium-sized
enterprisers.
The role
of communists is to keep in touch with the activists of these ranges and to
explain to them the necessity of an antimonopoly alternative. All these people
must unite so as to create a policy of the peoples’ alternative.
The
core of the workers’ movement is to be released from the social structure of
power ruled by monopoly
There is a need of a new workers’ movement to fulfil and to develop the new reform policy, a movement that is able to release itself from the burden of the capitalist society. The post war reform policy gave the workers’ movement a notable position in the society. The leaders of the reform labour movement as to maintain their position adapted to the new right-wing policy. In Finland the Social democratic Party, the trade union and the Left alliance are incapable to see, that there in no other possibility to achieve changes as to overturn the policy of the new right wing by abolishing the privileges of the monopoly circles. For instance, for them the membership in the EU is the only way to secure the position of the today’s labour movement as an institution of the capitalist society. That is why they don’t have the courage to join the actual antimonopoly struggle. Whereas the people of the workers’ movement in distinction from their leaders have this readiness to struggle. It was, for instance, proved by the fact, that during the EU-referendum the members of the workers’ movement in different countries of Europe voted, in spite of advices given by their leaders, against the monopolists’ EU-integration.
There is a need of a workers’ movement, which hasn’t any position to loose in the society when capitalism falls down. A systematic action for an antimonopoly alternative policy at all levels of the society will at some stage arise to resist the present policy of the society. And at a moment when it’s possible some kind of visible action will begin to support the alternative policy, and voices with alternative demands will begin to arise and to measure the stability of the society. For this kind of action there is a need of people, who don’t feel themselves attached to the present administration of integrated organizations. EU is an attempt of monopoly capitalists to finally shackle the society in favour of their policy. The present monetary economic policy is equal to the developing of EU. The struggle against EU may achieve its victory only when there exists an alternative to the present economic policy. Therefore the opponents to EU must organize themselves to the van of the antimonopoly struggle.
Communists are working to unite the working people of different ranges into a movement against the monopoly capital, so that it will become a mass movement, which will be able to achieve changes in the society. This can happen with the help of demonstrations, demands of the mass movements, strikes and other forms of activities that will break itself through and beyond the mass media propaganda and meet with the support of the people.
THE SOCIALIST
ALTERNATIVE STABILIZES THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SOCIETY
The socialist planned economy is the solution to
the problems of our society and of the entire humanity
Realization of a democratic alternative for monopolies does not directly open the door to socialist development. It is possible to finally get out of social conflicts typical for a capitalist society, but only by changing the economic policy to a socialistic stage of development, by transferring the main society functions over to a democratically controlled system and by eliminating forever the possibility of monopolists to overtake back its power. According to the standpoint of communists, this would also include the following:
- The socialist community is a society of the working people. In this society the living of every individual is based on the work of each and on the living received from it. The economical exploitation of one group by another, speculation and other forms of human relations based on exploitation does not belong to socialism.
- Big industries, banks, insurance companies and main large-scale productions and its belongings are to be handed over to the society. Private ownership, private professional employees and entrepreneurships maintains their valuable position as a part of the entire production of the society. But the state ownership of means of production, however, keeps its main position, and with its help the society controls the market and not vice versa market the society. Equal to state property is the cooperative property of its producers.
- In the socialist society the food production is based on
family and co-operative farming, of which there has been encouraging
experiences in the socialist countries of Europe and also elsewhere. The
enterprises of state and of cooperative producers take care of the refining
industry and the market. Productional cooperation has in Finland also had a
strong foothold, although the present cooperative firms like Valio have twisted
the meaning of cooperation into caricature and they today dominate the food
industry like monopolists. The agriculture production owned by the state is to
be developed. Communists don’t support big private farmings.
According to the opinion of communists the environment, the undisturbed service
and purity of food products are to be the property of the state and not of the
big private agricultural estates.
- The control of the economy is to be based on co-ordinate planning of the society. Which means that all the decisions linked with the production of the society should be taken on the production levels and according to the need of the society on the whole. This requires a lasting interaction between the different institutions of the society. A large cooperative and coordinating network between the different sectors is to be set up by the guidance of the society.
- The real revolution takes place in the fields of science
and culture, that will become the property of the people. The socialist
society is not anymore guided by laws that lack understanding; its development
is based on conscious, collective action. Which means besides sciences, it’s
under the control of the internal laws of the society and has a scientific outlook
on life. This brings an end to all kind of mysticism and to views based
on supernatural phenomena. The scientific out-look of life, however, doesn’t
mean that all will be of the same opinion; on the contrary, a constant progress
requires different opinions. The scientific outlook of life gives only a
coherent scientific footing and a manner of approach to the problems of the
society and technology.
- Since communists in the capitalist society function in developing the
society, it also means that many structures of the capitalist society can be
transferred to the socialist society by changing them so as to have a
socialistic and democratic platform. In the capitalist society the power of the
municipality and state institutions exist to serve the class interests of the
monopoly. In socialism the institutions of power elected by the people serve
the interests of the working people only.
There is no movement of workers’ struggle without
communists
Communists alone don’t carry out the alternative policy conforming to the interest of the people. The precondition for all political reforms is that different ranges of the working people begin to realize that the only possible way to achieve political reforms in reality means to attack the privileges of monopoly capitalism. Possibility to go ahead from antimonopoly stage to socialism comes when peoples find that the only way to safeguard the political reforms is to abolish the power of monopolies once for all. This, however, doesn’t mean that the groups and parties that had carried out the political reforms of the society have changed to communists, but they have achieved their goal, which has had a socialist starting point. While socialism goes on developing the society, there will exist different kinds of interests and different social groups, and during this development of socialism they may underline different matters in different ways. It could be quite possible that inside the development of socialism itself there might appear an opposition to socialism. Therefore communists should at all stages of the development be able to have a far-reaching cooperation with different social circles.
However, communists have a great responsibility and position during the social development. It’s because they from the very start have brought forth the necessity of a socialist society and will prove it with the help of science and theory. Therefore their duty is to have a theoretical preparedness while developing the society and also when defining its policy. They are to be the motors of the development. Though, this does not mean that this duty is eternally left to the communists, since also the other groups, which had from the beginning their differences in views will start to adapt to the scientific principles and to look for scientific solutions to the development of the society. There will be reached a stage, when the present political division of views of parties will loose their former characters and will completely change.
In the present capitalist society the alternative policy, which serves the interest of the people, requires changes from a reform policy to a decision making, so as to eliminate the monopoly power system. Only communists are able to bring forward an initiative that has such political aims, because they have from the very start an anticapitalist socialistic goal. History has proved, that a successful struggle against capitalist circles has always been successful when it has been combined with an anticapitalist alternative. In the struggle of the workers’ movement present are al- ways communists.
Parliament is a speaker’s platform, not an
instrument for final changes
The parliament of a capitalist state is an instrument of class power, which carries out the policy of the capitalist class. The capitalist society is built up in such a way, that its officials, elected officials and linked to them organizations and the position of their executive personnel are dependent on maintaining the capitalist power. Even though the parliamentarians and other confidentials are elected by the people, because of their position they carry out the social policy within the framework of monetary economy of the society. Kickers against decisions are being kept under discipline. The peoples’ “correct” behaviour is during elections secured by the help of mass media, being controlled by the monopoly circles. The real changes of the society cannot be based on parliamentarians’ activity. It is based on the ripeness of a situation in the society, when great masses begin to surpass their elected parliamentarians.
The revolutionary situation
Changing over from capitalism to socialism is an inevitable process from a point of view of history. In a class society according to the laws effecting the correlation between the labour forces and the means of production, the latter begins in different ways to retard the development of the forces of production. This appears today in form of growing depression of the society, chronical unemployment, regional differences in living standard etc. According to the experience of social development, well known to us, this will lead to a situation where the conflicts in the society will become so sharp that the situation can be solved only by changing the existing interrelation of the production. This stage of the social development we name as a revolutionary situation. It means that it’s an exceptional turning point in the development of the society, because it creates a situation where the main means of production changes its form of ownership and it cancels the power of the capitalist class.
A revolutionary stage in the development of the society arises even though the conflicts of the society, which gradually reaches an acute stage, don’t awake the people immediately. Every individual wants to keep to its daily duties. Therefore they wait and believe that the problems will find their solutions. But the situation at some stage will turn out so that the problems will remain unsolved and then the assurances given by the ruling circles will not anymore win confidence and the crisis of the society will change to acute. People will begin to understand how to have effect on solving their own matters. In a situation like this their social activity and consciousness will grow rather fast.
In Finland the communists takes part in the activities at all levels of the society, like in the workers’ and mass movements, in the political activities of the municipality and state. This way a footing is laid to turn in every possible way the growing activities in the society against the monopoly power. Long run activities of the workers’ and mass movements will begin to provide them with an organization that will at a certain critical moment shift the social power of the monopoly into the hands of the people. One must always be aware not to find oneself unprepared in a situation like this. Lack of organizational and activity experience inside the antimonopoly movement can lead to a situation where the extreme right might grab the initiative and keep the power in the hands of the monopoly capital by the help of a fascist dictatorship.
A state of the working people
One may never know in advance how the process might turn out, with the help of which the power of the society could be transferred from the capitalist circles to the people. A revolutionary situation, however, means an existence of social crisis of the ruling monopoly, when the whole apparatus of the administration becomes paralysed. The monopoly capitalist will, naturally, continue in every possible way to fight against the mass movement. They may take into use emergency laws, police forces and army. However, linked to the development is always a large mass movement of the society, and it will force the ruling circles to terms with the changes. In the out-come of the social movement, new administrative institutions will be appointed, which will carry out the programs demanded by the masses. This means building up a government that will go for the aims of the masses and whose duty is to secure the functioning of the new state power against the monopoly capital. This power will mean a power of the working people against the monopoly capital and also a foundation of a state of the working class in place of the bourgeois. For communists a government is always an instrument of the dominating class, in other words class dictatorship. For them it’s clear that the state of the workers is the proletarian’s dictatorship in place of the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie. In a state of the working class it’s possible to extend democracy, which is in a bourgeois state out of a democratic reach, like when decisions are taken in the field of economy.
Internationalism
To achieve these changes there has to be a broad
opposition against the monopoly capital. Therefore also class struggle has to
cross the national borders. The world system of socialism was able to come to
existence only when the great imperialist state of Russia changed over to
develop socialism. As the later experience has showed us, not even this power
was strong enough to finally overthrow the monopoly power. The international
working class during the atmosphere of cold war wasn’t able to proceed ahead to
the strongest bastion of capitalism, to the developed capitalist countries.
Limitation of power of monopoly in these countries would have led to military
conflicts. The development of socialism was forced to take a step back. And
today monetary economic policy is being carried throughout the entire world.
Stabilization of the life of the society would have required to have it
overthrown. It’s difficult to think that it could be done in one restricted
area only; therefore we have to be in a position to create an alternative
economic and social policy. Therefore the struggle of the national workers is
to be reorganized into a large international struggle against capital so as to
overthrow the monetary economic policy. We need a united and simultaneous antimonopoly
movement of the working people of the world. Only a movement like this is able
start an antimonopoly reform policy, that would be able to
proceed under the protection of the national movements throughout the world.
Therefore communists are for developing an international united action.
Communism
Mankind entered into a new era when Marx and Engels discovered the laws that regulate the internal motion of the society. From then on estimations concerning the society got a scientific purpose and the socialists’ utopian dreams of a communist future based on social equality for every human being without exploitation, wars and other miseries, obtained a scientific meaning. And communists keep on seeing that the goal of the development of society is communism, were there doesn’t exist any antagonist classes. The relations inside the production correspond to the high level of the productive resources. The means of production are being owned by the state, whereupon the relation of each individual to the means of production is equal. This means that there exists no economical or social exploitation of one by an other. The society functions as a whole harmoniously. The main problems of society, like poverty, wars, regional differences in living standard etc. are being solved. In the communist society many institutions, which had belonged to the class society have become useless, such as the government institution and the arm forces. The communist society is a civilization established by individuals having equal rights and where the peoples’ economic problems have been solved. Life in a communist society is based on work and is being directed by scientific planning.
The socialist society is an initial stage of communism. Its development solves the problem in overcoming the social conflicts, which had been based on private ownership of the means of production. There will be present a combat between the social planning and the self-directing market economy. The final victory of work over capital will lay the foundation of a communist future of mankind.
In a communist society solved are the problems linked to
the human substantial living and to many conflicts of the class-society.
Communism isn’t, however, free from conflicts, though, the social history of
class struggle is left behind forever, because new problems come up more and
more. On the contrary, one can say, that after being released from a
class-struggle society and from poverty, there will be possibilities to find
measures to prevent dangers and risks. Only after this humanity can plan its
development in such a way that it will harmonize with other sectors of the
material world and will secure the maintenance of variety in developing the
material. We don’t need communism only to secure the human material welfare, it
also gives the basis to store and secure the variety of developing the
material. A human society is a part of the development of this world of
material, its’ highest product. It has a back-effect on nature. Communism is to
see that this back-effect will proceed in a correct way.,
Communist
society as a subject is based on regularity of history. For humanity it’s not
such a distant goal, that one cannot discuss it as a model of a real society.
We, communists keep to our opinion of a communist society, because it’s similar
to a lighthouse that shows the way from our present time into the future.
THE GOAL OF COMMUNISTS IN DEVELOPING THE HUMAN
SOCIETY
Communists
have at the present stage a most important task to build up a large
antimonopoly front against the monopoly power. Without a large antimonopoly
front it’s impossible to create facilities for employment and to stabilize the
development in the society, including the aims to move towards socialism and
communism. When building an antimonopoly front, all will depend on the social
consciousness of the people and that is the reason why it will be impossible to
achieve success without a strong communist party.
The
platform gives a general thought of the problems we have ahead of us and also
of the obstacles that might occur. The detailed matters of the platform are
clarified in other numerous documents. These documents serve as appendices to
this platform. We do changes; make clarifications and corrections to the
platform and documents in accordance to the need of the society and to the need
of situations.
