HAPPENINGS 2004
17.12.04 Little Cosmo and Per came second in obedience competitions and got a title Danish Obedience Champion, DK LPCH! It must have been destiny that Cosmo got the last first prize for a Champion title in the same hall, where Per got to know Tekla and Cosmo two years ago in agilitycompetitions :) Congratulations for your great work and for the first Champion title in your litter! We are so proud of you, Little Cosmo is only 1 year old, so that kind of a success gets the breeders just speechless...
6.12.04 Ludde and Jaakko won an agilitycompetition (78 maxi dogs in class III)! They are missing only one clear round winning to be an Agility Champions, but they can't take it before in August 2005, so now it's good time for Ludde's motherhood.
6.12.04 Cosmo and Janita came second in agilitycompetitions, they lost to Demi and Mauri 0,15 second, so our team, Warriors, got double winning :)
5.12.04 Tekla and Janita won an agilitycompetition and Cosmo and Janita were second. Snoopy and Hanna made the day perfect by taking the third place :)

4.12.04 Ludde was in an International Dog Show, she got a red ribbon which means "very good".
21.11.04 Darko and Pia won an obedience competition with 173 points out of 180! There were 18 dogs in their class, and now Darko has a title LP1. We are very happy for you and we hope you the same success for next year competitions :)

17-18.7.2004 Tekla and Cosmo were in qualifications for Finnish team. After four courses Tekla was still leading with super points, but unfortunately she disq the last course and lost all the points and the ticket to Italy :( Cosmo was the 14th.
10.7.04 Vito and Timo won two agilitycompetitions in class II with a clear round! In first one they were over 5 seconds faster than the second one and in the other competition they won with couple of seconds. Next time they will be seen in class III. What a day Timo, very well done, congratulations for your great work!
4.7.04 Cosmo and Janita came to the third place in open class competition. For the dogs competing in class I the ideal time was 58 seconds, for the dogs competing in class II the ideal time was 52 seconds and for the dogs competing in class III the ideal time was 46 seconds. Cosmo was the fastest one in the course, but becouse we had a tighter ideal time, the first and second place went to the class I dogs. There were competing 100 dogs in this class.
4.7.04 Our team (Janita & Cosmo, Janita & Tekla, Hanna & Snoopy, Jaakko & Ludde) came second (from 88 teams) in breed-team competitions!
3.7.04 Tekla and Janita won Agility Open Finnish Championships! First there are qualification courses in all classes. In class III there were 124 dogs and 25 best got to the finals, in class II there were 50 dogs and 15 best got to the finals and in class I there were 60 dogs and 7 best got to the finals. In finals there are one course and everybody starts in empty table. Juha and Noel (in 2003 they were second in World Championships) were leading and Tekla was last one to go. Tekla made absolutely a beutiful work and were 0,5 seconds faster then Noel :) In the finals Cosmo came to the eight place, unfortunately one pole came down. But even bigger sorry I feel for Snoopy and Hanna, such a perfect course in the finals and the Snoopy past the last jump :-0. So they came to the 13th place with a result 5.
3.7.04 Tekla and Janita won an agilitycompetition with a clear round and a huge 3 second difference to the second one! There were 124 dogs in class III.
2.7.04 Janita was competing in agility with Demi, we got a clear round and came to the second place in agility class III, there were 70 dogs in that class, and the difference to the winner was only 0,15 seconds!
27.6.04 Little Cosmo and Per came second in obedience competitions in class II! They got 199,5 points out of 220 and a title LP2! What a perfect work you have done Per, congratulations and kisses to Little Cosmo :)
27.6.04 Little Thekla and Louisa got the first prize in obedience competitions in class II, they got 186 points out of 220! Unfortunately one exercise was 0, from the other exercises she got 5 x 10 points and 4 x 9,5 points, quite impressive! Congratulations for your LP2 title!
19.6.04 Ferris and Mervi won an agilitycompetition and got a title Finnish Agility Champion! Absolutely fantastic, congratulations Mervi for an excellent work! This was the 17th Champion title in our first litter :)
16.6.04 Fasse and Ville got 190 points out of 200 in obedience competition in class I! What a great result just three days after BH-test, congratulations!
13.6.04 Snoopy and Hanna got a first prize in water rescue test in class II with a great points 94/100! Just yesterday they got to the second class and already today the first prize and the third place in the competition, you are so talent, wet congratulations :)

20.7.03 Snoopy came third in water rescue competitions in class 1. They got 97 points out of 100. Snoopy lost 3 points because he forgot to take the object with him, when he was supposed to bring it to the boat... Hanna needed some extra commands to get him back to take the object with him :) Snoopy is the first Decathlete's bordercollie, who have followed grandmother Visse's pawprint to water rescue, we are of course very happy about it! Congratulaions Hanna and Snoopy, you had quite of a start this weekend!

25.5.03 Zorro started a new hobby during the winter, general working trial. Zorro won their first competition with 299 points out of 300! Wow, you two are the best, what ever you do! The general working trial consists of tracking, searching for concealed persons, searching for three scented articles (50 x 50 m area), retrieving an article dropped by the handler and searching for small articles (3 x 3 m area).

18.8.02 Zorro won gold in Finnish Championships of Working Trial (Search and Rescue)! In 1999 8th place, in 2000 2nd place, in 2001 3rd place and now in 2002 1st place! No-one can know how enourmously proud we are of Zorro and Sari. They have done work for this right from the beginning those two met each others and they really have earned that gold! The same day Ferris was the Best Of the Breed in a show and got his third certificate. Now he is the fourth Finnish Show Champion in the same litter, today it's nice to be a Decathlete's breeder:)
3.8.02 Tekla won an agilitycompetition in our area championships and Cosmo came second. Those two were the only dogs who got clear rounds in ideal time!
14.7.02 Zorro was competing in a World Championship of Obedience. In individual he came to the 4th place, WOW, that makes even breeders out of words! In a team competition Finland got silver, who would have never quessed such a perfect succeed... We are more than proud of Sari and Zorro :)

He is the third Decathlete's border collie allowed to compete in Finnish Championships of agility this year. There are now 28 maxi dogs that have enough results to take part in Finnish Championships. Any other kennel doesn't have three dogs there from the same litter!

23.3.02 Sari and Zorro were competing in Finnish Championships of Skiing. There is a 10 meters long rope between Sari and Zorro and Zorro is "pulling" Sari, who is on skiis. They had to go 5 kilometers up and down the hills and their time was 17 minutes and 16 seconds. They came to the fifth place. Zorro is competing this year in Finnish Championships in agility, Working Trial and Skiing. Besides that they belong to the Finnish obedience team and they are going to compete to the World Championships of obedience in Holland. What a versatile dog, competing in the Finnish top in four totally different hobbies!

HAPPENINGS 2001
25.11.01 Zorro was representing Finland in Nordic Championships. They got to the sixth place, with 288 points. Now you can call Zorro: FIN, S, N & POHJ TVA, FIN KVA & MVA, BH, HK3, wow, congratulations for the great work! Finland came second in Nordic Team Championships, the best result ever!
4.11.01 Wonderful Sunday! Cosmo won an agility competiton with clear round in class II. One more clear round before Cosmo will compete in class III. Tekla won class III in agility with clear round and so did Zorro. Vito got 272 points out of 300 from Search and Rescue Trial, he got a title HK1.
21.10.01 Zorro won an agility competition again with a clear round! He is missing only one more winning to be a Finnish Agility Champion. There must be at least one year and one day between the first and the third winning, so we have to wait one more year.
20.10.01 Zorro won an agility competition with clear round, so after a year, we may be expecting an other border collie in Finland with four different champion titles... :)
15.9.01 Zorro won a Search and Rescue Trial with 288 points out of 300. It was a special competition for border collies and Zorro got the highest points of all dogs. He got a title Breed Champion of Search and Rescue Trial 2001, well done, once again!
10.9.01 Snoopy and Arpa were in an unofficial water rescue test. Snoopy came third and Arpa was seventh from eleven dogs. Snoopy lost only one point from maximum by swimming from the wrong side of the marking pole.
9.9.01 Tekla won an agility competition. Ferris made a clear round in agility and came second place from 40 dogs. He lost 0,5 second to the winner, too bad...
8.9.01 Tekla won an agility competition in class III and got a title Finnish Agility Champion (FIN AVA). She is the first border collie in Finland who has four different champion titles (Agility, Working Trial, Obedience and Show)! Ferris made a clear round in agility class III and came to the third place.

26.8.01 Sody became Sjællandsmester (Sealand champion) in
agility. The title goes to the best dog combined in jumping open class and agility open class at that particular competition. Sody won jumping open class and was second in agility, and combined she was the best.19.8.01 Zorro came to the third place in Finnish Championships of Search and Rescue Trial. He lost two points from gold. Congratulations, last year silver, this year bronze, next year... who knows.
22.7.01 Cosmo won an obedience competition with 189,5 points out of 200! Next time he will compete in class III.

1.4.01 Tekla won a message dog trial and got a new title; FIN KVA, a Finnish Working Trial Champion! Now she has three different champion titles! Tekla was the fastest one in a forest, she run and tracked 7,2 kilometers in 13,24 minutes! Then she had to find three small obstacles in 2500 m2 area in five minutes. And then there was obedience test (ten different movements). Tekla got 271 points out of 300 and was the only one who got the first prize!

Tekla won a weaving pole-competition, Visse won "who finds and eat a sausage fastest"-competition and Cosmo made a clear round in agility and came second place.
In weaving pole-competition, there were one jump, weaving poles, one jump, weaving poles and one jump again.
In sausage-competition there were a piece of a sausage hidden to a toilet roll, owner was not allowed to help the dog or touch the toilet roll. We run to the rolls and dogs started to open rolls and winner was the one who had first eaten a sausage. By the way Cosmo was second in this competition...
In agility Cosmo took part to beginners competition. There were 15 obstacles; jumps, balance and two tunnels. Cosmo's time was 26 seconds.20.8.00 Tekla got 292 points in obedience competition and got a title Finnish Obedience Champion (FIN TVA)!

Zorro came second in Finnish Championships in Searching! He got 99 points out of 100 from obedience, 168 points out of 170 from searching people and 12 points out of 30 from searching objects.

3.7-16.7.00 We were on a holiday visiting other Nordic lands. In Norway we were herding sheep six times, in Sweden we had two obedience competitions in an international show. Visse was the best of breed and got a title International Show Champion (KANS MVA), Tekla was the second best of bitches and got a reserve Cacib.
In Denmark we had 21 agility competitions, Tekla made 10 clear rounds and got 8 times to the prizes.23.6.00 Zorro won a Working Trial AGAIN! He got 290 points out of 300, I'm just out of words...

Yesterday two times one fault in agility and today message dog trial, just bull... We were in a Border Collie team in Working Trial's Breed Competition. There were 16 teams from different breeds. Border Collies came 5th. Zorro was also in a team and made excellent result again; 278 points out of 300, he was the 3rd best from Searching dogs.14.6.00 Zorro came second in an obedience competition. Next time he will compete in winner class (class 3).

20-21.11.99 Four of our puppies were in a character test.
In Finland a Border Collie has to past a character test (or have a result from a working trial), before it can be a Show Champion.
A dog can get points between -300 and +300. A dog has to get at least + 75 points and pass the next parts: sharpness, nerve structure, friendliness and no fear of gunfire.
Other things that will be criticized are: eagerness to work, eagerness to defence (itself and owner), desire to fight (for example; to do a given job disregarding difficulties on the way), temperament and hardness.Border Collies' points (in Finland) average +130 points.
The more points a dog has the better trainability it should have.
On the other hand if a dog has points between +250 and +300, it may even be too happy with itself and its world to be trained...Tekla's points were +221, Windy's + 232, Zorro's +211 and Casso's +248. Quite impressive! All four were also shot-confident!
6.11.99 Visse won an obedience competition and got the first prize. Now she is an Obedience Champion (FIN TVA). Super! There aren't very many Border Collies in Finland, which have three different champion titles!
13.10.99 Vito passed a basic test in Search and Rescue, which includes searching in day time and searching at night. A dog has to find (in both tests) two men from a forest in 20 minutes. An owner has to also pass some tests: first aid, orienteering and using the radio telephone. Congratulations Vito and Timo!

19.9.99 Tekla won a relay competition! She got 282 points out of 300. Obedience 85/100 (we missed 10 points because of my (Janita) faults) and from running she got 197/200.
In an open class a dog has to run 4 kilometers between two handlers in a forest. A part of this is tracking. Tekla can now use a title VK2 and next time she'll compete in a winner class.5.9.99 Tekla was in an obedience competition. She won winners class and is now entitled to take part in a special winners class.
29.8.99 Vito was the second best male in show. Vito is now FIN MVA (Finnish Show Champion). A Border Collie has to be two years and one day before it can be a show champion. Vito was two years and two days.
20-22.8.99 Zorro was in Finnish Championships in Searching from the wood. He was eighth from over fifty dogs. Zorro was the youngest one in that competition.
18.8.99 Vito got his second first prize in starters class in an obedience competition. Now he is entitled to take part in open class.
5.8.99 Tekla came in second in our agility club's championships. All our club's dogs did the same course with the same ideal time regardless of what class it normally belongs to. Tekla lost by only 1 second to Pumi Miklos (at least known by all agility people).
6.7.99 Both Tekla and Visse won first prizes from obedience competition. Tekla in winners class and Visse in special winners class. Visse needs one more first prize to be an Obedience Champion (FIN TVA) and Tekla needs one more first prize to be entitled to compete in special winners class.
3.7.99 Zorro was in a search from the woods-competition. He got 276 points out of 300. Searching people 163 points, searching objects 17 points and obedience 96 points. This was the first time they got first prize. They need two more to be Finnish Working Champions (FIN KVA).
25.6.99 Zorro competed in his first winner class for search from the woods-competition. He got a training mark.
16.6.99 Visse won a title: Rauma's fastest dog in weaving poles. There were three jumps and running through the weaving poles twice. Tekla got first prize in obedience competition in the winners class. Zorro won his first obedience competition with 199 points out of 200!
12-13.6.99 We had several agility competitions in Turku. Sody and Indy from Denmark were visiting us and taking part in the competitions. Tekla got her third honor prize from I-class and transferred to II-class. In that class she won two races with clear rounds. Now she needs only one more honor prize to be in III-class. In a final course Tekla was in eighth place with one mistake. In the final course there were three best dogs from all six races from all classes. Tekla's sire Indy won one race on Saturday and got a new title FIN AGCH (Finnish Agility Champion). Then he won one race on Sunday and got a new title again INT AGCH (International Agility Champion). He won the final competition and got 5000,-. They really had a great trip! Ferris also got his last honor prize from I-class. Sody was the fastest dog in almost every race, but unfortunately she always got one or two mistakes. Zorro started his agility career this weekend, but I expect much better results from him now that they have changed their agility trainer...
29.5.99 Vito got a training mark from tracking. Now he is in a working class in the shows and will compete next time in tracking in an open class.
27.5.99 Tekla won a relay competition with 291 points out of 300. From the relay 200/200 and obedience 91/100. She ran 2000 meters alone in the forest between Janita and Petri in 4 minutes and 28 seconds. (Even 6 minutes will give full points from running time.) She got a training mark and now she is in a working class in the shows and will compete next time in relay in an open class.

23.5.99 Sody got her third honor prize from both agility and jumping classes. Now she'll compete in II-class.

8.5.99 Zorro was in his second search from the woods-competition. He was in open class (there is novice-class, open-class and winner-class) and won that class with 285 points out of 300. He got 100 points out of 100 from obedience!!! That's really unbelievable, amazing... He also was the best dog from all the classes. It took him only two competitions to be entitled to take part in winner class! I'm so proud of both Zorro and Sari, they have done excellent work!

28.3.99 Windy came second in obedience competition. She got 173 points out of 200. Standing was zero ( = 20 points ). Their next competition will be in May in Open Class.
21.3.99 Vito and Tekla both passed the suitability test in rescuing from the ruins easily. There were obedience tests, going through the dark tunnel, which is about 15 meters long, climbing test and searching. The judge also shot guns during the heeling and searching.
14.3.99 Tekla won agility competitions! Ideal time was 52 seconds, Tekla's time was 27,68 seconds. My god she's fast...
