General
All my knives are of my own design and all are hand made. I make only about 20 to 30 knives annually, which means that all knives are unique gifts and perfect collector's items.
I am specially interested in scrimshaw technique. It is always an interesting challenge to "scrim" personal images, such as the owners dog on the knife.
I make my knives respecting old traditions and by utilizing modern technology, especially in the area of heat treatment.
All knives are made of carefully selected and collected raw materials. All my knives are made for hard use, even the decorative ones.
All Carbon Steel blades are hand forged. As blade material, I use carbon steel, “silver steel”, “bearing steel” and stainless steel.
Stainless steels in use are; 12C27, 13C26 and ATS-34, RWL-34 and Damasteel.
The wood for the grip can be almost anything that is suitable. I use mainly Birch Burl and Masur Birch.
Ferrules (Mountings) can also be made from any suitable materials. I use mainly brass, bronze, silver (925), Nickel Silver, stones, bones and horns.
The sheaths I make from careful selected natural tanned leather or leather with rawhide center. All sheaths are hand sewed
My goal is to create knives to objects of art.
