Ariel was my first mortorcycle. I bought it at the age of sixteen from a neighbour of ours in late sixties. It was in a relatively good condition. Only battery and exhaust pipe was missing. One gear sprocket was also damaged.
The tank was originally black, but I liked more the red colour. The old paint was stripped from the whole bike and re-painted all over. Exhaust pipe was made locally from stainless steel.
I had the Ariel for two years, but it was rather slow as it was equipped with sidecar gearing. So it was sold and Yamaha 250 was bought in 1970.
