Welcome

D rawing has always been a great interest of mine. After getting an brand new Amiga 1200 in the early nineties I also started playing around with animation. With a greyscale scanner from Datel Electronics in the UK I produced my first animations on my Amiga. I also started to learn to use the 3D rendering package “ Imagine”. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to continue this hobby but I hope to do something new in a not too distant time.

Here you can see the results of my experiments. Some of the animations was for a local TV broadcast station (JTVP) that used Amiga. They had a text & image sequence made in Scala that showed all kinds of information when they had no program to send. It was no commercial TV station.
Their TV-work was hobby work on their free time and still is I think.

I remember I got tickets to the cinema for my work so one could say I did it mostley for fun and because I wanted to learn more.

Unfortunately our local TV brodcast station donesn’t use Amigas anymore. :(

Old animation samples

Here are some animations I made. Nothing that I am especially proud of since they are quite short and there is no sound, but
I had quite a lot of fun doing them. Also bear in mind that they are made around 1994-1996 so they are 10 years old

The files are in Amiga ANIM format so if you wan't to view them on a PC you could always download Pro Motion by Jan Zimmermann.
or MultiShow by Werner Randelshofer.

If want to comment or just say hi send it to :

Click on the sample images to download the animation.

All animations and characters are (c) Animanu, mail me if you would like to use any of it.

A very short animation that was just something I thought I would add into a longer animation later.
The longer animation never saw the light. :)
Just a sequence of a man walking his dog.

This was handdraw on paper and scanned.
This wizard was ment to conjure som text
on to the screen.

The "cells" of the charater in the Merlin-animation was drawn by mouse in Deluxe Paint if
my memory serves me correctly.
Very, very short one. He just uses his remote control. This was part of a slide show made with Scala where some text on the screen changed every time he used his remote control.
This was also scanned and later coloured in
Deluxe Paint.
Here a commercial for a veteran car rally that is arranged every year. It was shown in our local TV broadcast network. This one was fun to do. I drew the backgrounds and cells on paper and scanned it to the Amiga. The colouring was all done in DPaint. This was just made when I had nothing else to do and I wanted to test what the morph feature in DPaint could be useful for.
This was also for the local TV brodcast station.
The caracter walks up to the scene to present
whatever they liked to add. Text was added later
in Scala.
A commercial for "themself" the Local TV station (JTVP)
I think this was one of my first serious experiments with Imagine. I apologise for the minimal use of coulours and polygons but I wanted the animation
to have a smooth flow and it was to be shown on JTVP's old A3000 so there wasn't much to do
about it.
Another shorty. This was a later experiment that ended as such. I think I have a storyboard lying around somewhere.
A very simple test with Imagine to
try to do reflections.
Flying letters, another commercial for themself at the local TV station.
And after doing flying letters I always wanted to
see if I was capable of doing the earth with texture mapping. I think it will do.
Running out of ideas but I thought Imagine was
way cool so I had to do a another spinning logo.
