NEWS / What's new

16.12.2005 Last Sunday our agility training group (Afghans only!) had a Christmas Party together with
a very unofficial agility competition.

First it was handlers' turn to do the hard work (and yes, it really was hard!):

"Slowly (very slowly..) but surely she came out of the tunnel..."

And then it was dogs' turn, they made it with "some more" speed!
Here's some pictures of Joose's performance..

Results?
Well, we can be really pleased: the first place was a tie between "Mulan" (A'Rosafan Mulan) & Anne and Joose & Mirja! :)

Now we'll have a Christmas holiday from all hobbies, just relaxing and enjoying the Christmas delicacies :)
Hmm... maybe we could try some clicker training, though.. ;-)

We would like to wish you a Peaceful Christmas time and lots of happy moments in 2006!

You can see our Christamas Greetings here

14.10.2005 Congratulations to Joose's daughters Helmi and Sherry for their 3rd and 4th place at Helsinki Sighthound Club's Coursing competition on 10 October! Helmi got her 4th coursing CAC, now she has to wait until next year - she then needs just one more for her Coursing CH -title! Sherry, just one point behind Helmi, got CAC-quality award.

Joose's sister Goldie was also competing, she was 8th with CAC-quality among 18 competitors. Joose himself was sleeping at home as we missed the entry date...

6.8.2005 Hmm... those kids of Joose seem to keep me quite busy with updating these pages.. ;-)

This time we are happy to send congratulations to Joose's daughter Wilma for her Coursing BOB & CAC-win! Wilma collected an amazing 542 points while the second best afghan of the day got 496 points which also is an excellent score...  Congratulations, Marika!

30.7.2005 She did it again! The second International Coursing Competition of this year in Finland
was run today in Osara, and Joose's daughter Helmi won again BOB, CACIL and CAC, just as she did three weeks ago in Tammela. Congratulations, Taru!

28.7.2005 Congratulations to Joose's daughter Wilma for her 2nd place and coursing CAC
at SA-FA's coursing championships in Nummela on 24 July!
Her sisters Sherry and Helmi did quite well, too: they were 4th and 5th with CAC-quality.

The day before, at the Helsinki Sighthound Club specialty, Joose's daughter Nita and sister Goldie were 2nd and 3rd in a big open class. Nita was among the five finalists in the Best Bitch competition, but didn't unfortunately make it to the top four that were placed. The judge was Sandra Bridges from USA.

Added some new pictures of Joose's kids Weeti, Wilma, Nita and Sherry and
Lillie's daughter Goldie.

10.7.2005 Just one week since the previous update and now again it's time to congratulate Joose's kids! :)

This time the biggest star is Helmi who hit the jackpot by winning BOB, CAC & CACIL at Tammela International Coursing Competition! Also Wilma and Sherry had a good day, they were 3rd and 4th with CAC-quality in bitches.
Joose
himself was 6th in males' competition with CAC-quality, too.

Elsewhere Djordje Tesic judged afghans in Karjaa and awarded Joose's daughters Martha and Nita "excellents" and placed them as 3rd and 4th in open class.

3.7.2005 Congratulations to Joose's son Weeti and his owners for his BOS & CAC at Hyvinkää all breed show! The judge was Kari Salminen (Fin). Daddy is very proud of his children! :)

He won Best Male, CAC, Cacib, BEST OF BREED (out of 17 afghans), GROUP 1st and finally BEST IN SHOW 2nd at Trondheim International Show in Norway on 26 June 2005!

I also handled Joose's second cousin and special friend Gloria (Fin & Est Ch Nabila's Morning Glory) to Best Bitch with CAC & Cacib, so she got the Norw Ch title, too.

Thank you judges Ms Agnes Ganami-Kertes, Israel (Breed & Group) and Ms Jean Lanning, Canada (BIS) for this unforgettable day!
We would also like to thank our friends and strangers alike for the great ringside support and warm congratulations. Thank you all, you made our day even more perfect! :)

(Unfortunately we don't have any pics from the BIS-competition.)

It seems like this was Joose's last show for a while as we have no plans of showing him more right now. So there will not be a lot of show news coming in the near future, but there will surely be some updates on these pages every now and then anyway, so you're more than welcome to visit us again!

17.6.2005 Wow! Joose's daughters had a great day at Rajamäki coursing competition on 12 June:

1st & CAC: Sherry (494 points)
2nd & CAC: Wilma
(480 poins)
5th & CAC-quality: Helmi

Well done girls!!!

and Helmi.

Joose was also competing, he got 222 points and was unfortunately the first who didn't make it to the finals.

The day before Joose was shown at SA-FA specialty. He got excellent without a placement, but the critique Ms Tromp-Pruyn of Netherlands gave him made me quite proud: "Elegant dog with lots of attitude. Presented in best condition you can imagine."

24.5.2005 This news is a bit late, but better late than ever...

Congratulations to Joose's daughters Wilma and Sherry for their successful performances  in Rajamäki coursing competition on 15 May: Wilma was 3rd and Sherry 5th!

17.4.2005

Joose was #4 Afghan Male in Finland in 2004!

But let's get back to the present: We've started a new hobby with Lillie and Joose: agility!
It's a lot of FUN and the dogs just love it!  Well, Lillie loves food and is always hungry, so she's ready to do about anything for goodies ;-)  Joose sometimes gets a big bored when waiting for his turn, but he too has concentrated pretty  well and learned many new tricks!

Thank you Terja Koivumäki for the following pictures!

12.3.2005 Today it was time to this year's first coursing competition, "winter race". Joose's kids are now  old enoug for official trials, and his daughter Sherry really hit the jackpot by winning the competition of 31 afghans with coursing CAC! Sherry collected an amazing  amount of 513 (262 + 251) points! Quite a start! Congratulations!!!

Sherry

Among the 12 finalists were also Joose's sister Goldie who continues her good placements with today's 7th place (229 + 219 = 448 p), and Joose's daughter Wilma who, like Sherry, went to her first competition and was 10th (225 + 203 = 428 p.). Goldie and Wilma both got the CAC-quality award.

Yes, Joose himself was there too. He got 206 points that gave him the 17th place.
His daughter Nita got 205 points.

Yeah, that was FUN! - Joose

9.1.2005 Congratulations to Joose's daughter Nita for her great success at this year's first show. Nita won 2nd Best Bitch, CAC & res-CACIB in Kajaani, judged by Ms Zafra Sirik from Israel. Well done!
