I guess I'll always
remember how I was practising with Jimi at home before
his first show in intermediate class. I just couldn't
make him trot beautifully in a circle, he was bouncing
here and there and I was getting quite desperate... But
when we went to the show and I took him into the ring he
was like totally different dog and knew exactly what he
was expected to do! Ever since I've enjoyed every minute
in the ring with Jimi because I know that he takes the
shows pretty seriously - lol, much more seriously than I
do... - and always shows the best of himself.
Jimi finished easily his Int Ch -title
at the age of just three years with six Cacibs from big
shows. He was # 3 Best Afghan Male in
1996 and has been seldom shown since that. Jimi returned to the show
rings in 2001 as a veteran (until 2003 all dogs over 7
years were shown in veteran or working class in Finland).
During 2001 and 2002 he was shown 15 times, resulting
two Best of Breeds at int. shows and 9
other placements in the Best Male competitions, Group 3rd,
BIS veteran, BIS-2 veteran (Nordic
Winner Show), BIS-3 veteran, # 1 Veteran Male at the
National specialty etc. After that he was retired from the show rings and enjoyed his life as a king of his pack.
